We use the nasal saline spray from the drug store.Sent from my iPhone

Our daughter is having really bad head/nasal congestion... she does not blow her nose. I can tell that the pressure is getting pretty yucky!

What would be safe/good for our kids to relieve this? She has a cough too.

Thanks

I let my kids play in the shower. It helps unclog the nose for a while and give

them relief. (especially if they have itchy watery eyes)

If the air is really dry (like it gets in the winter up north - a humidifier is

a good thing to have, warm mist.)

Sometimes, I will do eucalyptus oil on a towel (like a bandana) so they can

smell it, but not get on their skin.

I also will spray collidial silver on and around their noses (spray in their

mouth)

I always up their vitamin D. Add garlic and onions to their morning eggs.

(can't smell it anyway!!) and let the Celtic Salt in everything they eat...it's

a great anti-bacterial. I use it for regular cooking everyday.

Lots of fluids/coconut water (to restore electolytes in pineapple juice is

good...)

If child is lethargic and really really tired...I prop them up with pillows to

relieve the pressure on their heads. Get fluids in them. Juices are great,

juicer juice even better. Don't worry about food, worry about fluids.

Let them run and play outside (if it's a nice day) this also breaks up the

clogged noses and allows for some free flowing breathing. (This sounds crazy,

but when I have a really bad stuffed nose, I run on the treadmill for at least

30 min. I usually have a better nights sleep and the stuffy nose is gone. -- I

take it with my healing soup.)

Healing Soup (Cold Soup) - in large pot, can be reduced cut in half

Chicken (1 lb), Chicken stock (8 cups), carrots (2 large), celery (1 stalk),

onions (large), garlic (lots of) -- I get elephant garlic and use two or three

really large cloves in a food processor, then throw it in. Salt and pepper.

Drink the 'dregs' -- it's powerful stuff.

Change the pillowcase (and sheets if you have time ) everyday until they are

well. This keeps the germs from coming back. I also lysol the bed too (and

open the windows for 15 minutes)

Astragalus, 15-20 drops in water works nicely to relieve pressure on the

sinuses.
