Lymphatic System

The absolute best way to stimulate the entire lymphatic

system is the use of a mini-trampoline, called a

'rebounder'. Bouncing on this for at least 15-20 minutes

per day will stimulate and activate the lymphatic system

like nothing else. Skin brushing and herbs are fine, but

rebounding is a direct way to force the lymphatic system to

start working. It is called the 'second circulatory

system', as it parallels the blood circulatory system, but

it does not have a pump (heart) like the blood circ system

does. Rebounding (as it is called) not only acts as a pump

to the lymphatic system, but you also get the equivalent of

an entire body massage at the cellular level.

Axel, I'm glad you mentioned the lymphatic system. I learned lymphatic

maneuver (it is like massage but very gentle) a few years ago. The flowing of

the lymph is so important for the immune system and overall health. The Chi

Machine (oxigenizer) is also an amazing little machine that not only oxigenates

the body but helps the free flow of the lymph and balances the chakra system

At night it is advisable to sleep with very loose clothes.

Re: Rebounders

Ahh yes, rebounders. Part of the benefit of rebounding is the circulation,

especially of the lymphatic system. Did you know we have more lymph fluid

than blood? Or that we have more " mileage " in our lymphatic system than for

our blood? And that we have no " pump " system (like that beating heart) for

the lymphatic system? We must get it through physical activity, and

rebounding is very good for this. Also Yoga, but I guess most Os aren't very

much into that... If you don't have a rebounder, don't worry, you can get

plenty of lymphatic stimulation from jogging and running... very O-ish

activities! Also, in my Chi video there is an exercise that is basically

standing with knees slightly bent, bouncing up and down, this is much like

rebounding. You don't need a trampoline to bounce! But I'm sure rebounders

are more effective and less aggravating to existing injuries...

Gladly! :)

in health,

=========

This is from the book " Natural Detox " by Marie Farquharson.

Method

Work on dry skin, before you bath or shower, and use long sweeping movements.

Always brush towards your heart.

1. First brush the sole of one foot, then work up the front and back of the

same leg and over your buttocks.

2. Repeat on the other leg.

3. Then work on your hands and arms: starting at your fingertips brush the

palms and backs of your hand and then move up towards your armpits.

4. Brush across your shoulders and as much of your back as you can reach.

5. Brush your chest, working down towards your heart. Women should be gentle

on their breasts and avoid brushing their nipples.

6. Brush down your neck.

7. Now brush your stomach, in a circular motion. Always brush in a clockwise

direction as this helps to stimulate the colon.

8. Brush until your skin feels warm, but don't overdo it. Around five

minutes of brushing is plenty, but less is fine too.

After any brushing take a bath or shower.

Note: never brush on broken or irritated skin, or share your brush with

anyone else; it can spread infection. Be sure to keep your brush fresh and

clean, and always wash it in warm soapy water after using --all those dead

cells make a wonderful home for bacteria.

Before my prior note was even able to be posted I came across info that

strikes me to believe what is going on with me involves the lymphatic

system; but I don't think it is lymphedema which others have likely

dealt with.

Anne,

We've had women who have had to have lymph nodes removed because they

were filled with silicone--this is even women with saline implants (the

shell can shed particles.)

A stagnant lymph is not a good thing...the lymph system does not have a

pump like the bloodstream does with the heart. The only thing that keeps

lymph moving is exercise (doesn't have to be heavy exercise...walking

will do.). Jumping rope and rebounding are good for the lymph system,

too.

There is also a therapy you can get called Lymphatic massage.

A good old fashioned massage is helpful too!

The goal is to keep that lymph moving and doing it's job.

Here's some good info:

http://www.iatria.com/massage.html

The lymphatic system is essential as the body's drainage system for

cleansing and filtering out of bacteria and toxins. Congested lymph

pathways can cause soreness, aches, pains and flu-like symptoms.

Lymphatic massage helps to unclog the lymph system. Beginning in a

clockwise motion on the body, the lymph system is manually cleansed.

Best performed in a series of six, or as part of a full detoxification

program, this form of massage helps the body to heal itself from many

common maladies. As with most massage, it is vital to drink lots of

water after a lymphatic massage.

Benefits:

Many cases of disharmony on the body and mind are due to an exhausted

lymph system. This helps to clear the " passage-ways " . Excellent after

surgery.

Hey sidepull - I just recently started doing the dry body brushing. It's

amazing! I don't know if it would have helped when we were in the thick of

things but I no longer shed skin like I used to. I think it keeps the

mites/bacteria/etc. from having a virtual buffet. And, I so agree with the

Lymph statement. Since starting the brushing the pockets of " swelling " I have

had since our mite-mare started are gone (used to be under my eyes, my knee

caps, etc. even though my weight is actually lower than it has been since like

high school). So, a rebounder is on my santa list, too! We gotta help the

lymph system in every way we can - it's got a big job having to fight this!

> 1st Off the good news. In 2010 and 2011 I have been thinking this might be the

year I see then end of my mites... For the most part they are minimal, still

with me but the least active they have been in a while, just not all gone...

>

> The other day I was working a job that, for 2.5 hours was absolutely a total

body aerobic workout. Nothing in a fitness center could compare, I was a human

blurr, push, pull, lift, throw, GO, GO, GO. It was awesome, I love that

physically challenging stuff.

>

> Fast forward 5 hours and my skin was dead quiet. Nothing. Next day my skin was

still really quiet.

>

> What happened? Our bodies have a Lymphatic system. This system, unlike our

circulatory system has no pump. It relies on physical movement to pump the fluid

through our Lymphatic system. You can also stimulate fluid movement by skin

brushing, rebounding... So what I believe happened for me is that my lymphatic

system was able to move alot of toxins and other crap out for elimination and

thus my body is a bit less toxic and my little friends are not as well fed.

Since I first read of my lymphatic system I have believed that it would be

beneficial to keep it working very well. I never did buy the rebounder

(mini-trampoline), but now I most surely will.

hand. I think I'll ask Santa for a rebounder. Until I get one, I'll just do a

little rebounding with my feet on the floor and my I-Pod cranking some great

music.
