Guest guest
This website lists some Q and A discussions and includes some people who have had Negative experiences with Serrapeptase. You need to know ALL of the possibilities, so be aware if you take it... http://www.raysahelian.com/serrapeptase.html I've ordered mine and will let you know how I do on it. Guest guest
From what I am reading, the suggestion is to limit the amount of serrapeptase you take to 20,000 units per day. More is not necessarily better! Guest guest
I am under the impression that Serrepaptase and Vitalzym have HCMCP in it which allows it to get further into the system to do its action. It is my understanding that the " P " in HCMCP stands for phthlates (sp?) which are a plasticizing material. However, some say the benefits might outweight the negatives. Here is an email I got from a nurse who understands this better of me. Of note, one can buy Serrepaptase without HCMCP (though Good Health Naturally USA) but it may not work as well. Again, here is the email from the nurse who explains it better than I can: Yes, the enteric coating makes it so the capsule doesn't open up until it reaches the intestines. The non-enteric coated capsules open up in the stomach, where the stomach acid destroys about 1/2 of the enzymes (according to their website). You would have to take (and pay) twice as much. So you really need to weigh your options, do you want more of the enzyme to reach the intestines intact so it can be absorbed and help get rid of the scar tissue, and hope that the amount of phthalates is so small that is won't have much of a negative effect. I was wondering if taking a tums right before taking the serrapeptase would help neutralize the stomach acid, so less of the enzyme would be destroyed. Neutralizing the stomach acid isn't that great either. So then I would have to try to figure out which would be the lesser of 2 evils, Tums, or phthalates. Another thing to consider is how to clean phthalates out of the body. Is it stored in the body, or does it get processed in the liver, and pass out through the kidneys? Are phthalates one of the toxins that the liquid zeolites can pick up? If I am going to be taking the liquid zeolites anyway, and if the liquid zeolites can clean up the phthalates, then it might be OK to use the enteric coated capsules.
