Guest guest
Hey gals... just letting you know, I saw Dr. Kolb Monday afternoon. She had told my husband, and a friend, that I was one of the worse cases she'd seen, and that she'd never seen anyone who had every symptom like I do, and that she'd never opened anyone and seen infection as bad as what was in my chest, and that I could have died if I'd waited longer to explant. She had initially told me that she did not think Psueudotumor Cerebri was related, but after surgery said she consulted with a neurologist and does feel it is related now. It had me curious what she found when she opened me up, because she told them it was all way worse than she expected. So, having said that, my results came back on the pathology of the infection and it's staph! My chest has had staph infection inside it (particularly from the left implant / left side)... and I've complained to my doctor for YEARS about pain in that area, and they've always made pulled muscle excuses, or "you've torn cartiledge on your ribs -you can do that tying your shoe." It's no wonder why I've had swollen areas all over my chest. She's starting me on a second Z pack, and told me to pay mind to whether or not pain lingers in that area and to let her know immediately if it does. My drains were supposed to stay in until 10/11. Since surgery, I've ran a fever, sweated, and had pain/burning so bad nothing was soothing it. Well, come to find out --- I was having an allergic reaction to the drains (silicone) from the drains as well as the pain pump tubing. I told her how bad it was hurting, and when she pulled the bandaging off --- I was blistered all over. She said she wrapped the tubing in something else, and I still reacted to the silicone despite. I guess it's a strong allergy. So she removed them. I literally have blisters in the shape of the tubing that was pressed against my skin, as well as a quarter sized one that was the worst. So, you can imagine what my insides were burning like with that fresh silicone...and it makes me wonder how I lived 10 years with the implants! This is just so amazing -finally confirming everything. I fly home this afternoon (10/9)! Sooo happy and excited about life now! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
Guest guest
Anne, For some reason, this post went through without my comments. Here they are: > > Anne, > I wanted to share this previous post from one of our girls who was desperately ill. It occurred to me that this may be one of the reasons that you are feeling so ill. > > I remember another woman who was explanted after having implants for many years and going downhill, her doctor told her that when she opened her up, her implants were sitting in a " sea of green ooze. " It could be very likely that your implants and capsules are surrounded by a sea of infection. I know that happens quite often, because I've talked to a number of women personally who had this....Infection is a definite concern, and should not be overlooked. > > Read this letter and see if it resonates: > > > Hey gals... just letting you know, I saw Dr. Kolb Monday afternoon.
