Guest guest
Well, looks like the bulk of Hurricane Charlie missed us all. It was projected to travel right over us, before it turned toward Orlando. We got horrendous rain, but that's nothing. Has anyone heard from Christy? Guest guest
I talked with her on the phone this afternoon. I think she said it missed her too actually. SC was getting pounded last time I heard. I have not checked the weather since this afternoon though. Maybe its in NC now. Anyone know how to get rid of smoky smell in a house? my darn mom showed up at midnight or so (like there was not a hurricane possibly passing through!) drunk as a skunk. Warwick yelled at her (cuz she gave us another song & dance last week about going to AA meetings & therapy) then made her go to bed when she tried to leave. Anywho, I woke up this morning & my house reeks of smoke! That wretch actually smoked all over the house & dropped the ashes in cans & on the counter in the kitchen!!!! I am almost as mad about the smoking as her getting sloshed! NO ONE has ever smoked in this house, not even Warwick with his three pack a day habit! grrrrr. Anyways, I sprayed citrus room freshener. Guest guest
I've burned three right down to the wick....just plain old scented candles though. Someone suggested a type of candle that is supposed to take care of smoke smells but I have not had a chance to get to wallly world & look for one. Oh well, I am driving to Va. on Monday...or halfway there rather...I probably won't be back until at least the weekend so I daresay the air conditioner will get rid of the smokey smell by then right? Guest guest
-- Dawn D, It might getrid of most of it but you will need to clean the filter after or the stink just recirculates. Perhaps 2 or 3 times cleaning the filter each time. Maybe if you put a little scented oil on the AC filter to circulate. Bob - In autoimmune-ills , " D. Guest guest
Well, this won't help with the rain going on down there...especially since damp holds the smoke smell...but we open the windows and let the outside air take it away. Also, Febreeze does a good job getting it out of fabric. They do have those smoker's candles, but I've never tried them. Also if the weather is horrible in the winter, I sometimes let Denny smoke in the kitchen with the exhaust fan on, and the smoke smell never seems to get to the rest of the room. Maybe just make sure all the ashes and butts are out of the house...not just in the trash... scrub the counters and turn on the exhaust fans and if you have febreeze use it. Then give your Mom a spanking and send her the hell home. I am sooo over alcoholics. My brother has been clean for a year now, but his wife is still drinking "some". My brother in law is still drinking and is a major asshole when he's drunk. He's hurting so everyone must feel his pain. I mean I grew up with Dad drinking, then my brother started drinking and drugs when he was a teenager. I thought I was used to it and could deal, but now I'm used to it and it pisses me off. Kathy latest from Florida well, this is interesting. some fellow just called chuck who works with warwick & told them to bring the helicopter to south florida. chuck was so busy getting himself out the door (he lives 45 min. away from the airport) that he did not have time to talk much just told warwick to go to the airport.
