Glad it missed you Fonda!

Haven't heard from Christy.

Was the storm going over her area? I guess I'm not totally clear on where in Georgia she is...I'm thinking south central Georgia?

It should...but if W has a chance to open the windows at all it is good to get rid of the recycled air every now and then...especially when someone has smoked in the house. It might be a good idea to change or clean (depending what type you have) the filter in your central air, also, and I think I remember that they make some kind of scent that you can use in the AC system....I'm thinking it's similar to a dryer sheet, but not a dryer sheet, that you put with the filter.

Re: latest from Florida

I've burned three right down to the wick....just plain old scented candles though. Someone suggested a type of candle that is supposed to take care of smoke smells but I have not had a chance to get to wallly world & look for one. Oh well, I am driving to Va. on Monday...or halfway there rather...I probably won't be back until at least the weekend so I daresay the air conditioner will get rid of the smokey smell by then right?

well, this is interesting. some fellow just called chuck who works with warwick & told them to bring the helicopter to south florida. chuck was so busy getting himself out the door (he lives 45 min. away from the airport) that he did not have time to talk much just told warwick to go to the airport. So he packed & was out the door in about five minutes. I have no clue what they are going down there for but they're off. maybe some sort of damage assesment??? hope they get there ok, its raining a lot now. as long as the wind doesnt get up its perfectly fine though. did you know that in bad weather helicopters can legally land just about anywhwere to wait out the storm? EVEN.....a wendy's parking lot!!! W.has not done that but I did hear of a guy doing it...thought that was pretty funny. uhhh, i'll have some fries with that please. lol.

Anyone know how to get rid of smoky smell in a house? my darn mom showed up at midnight or so (like there was not a hurricane possibly passing through!) drunk as a skunk. Warwick yelled at her (cuz she gave us another song & dance last week about going to AA meetings & therapy) then made her go to bed when she tried to leave. Anywho, I woke up this morning & my house reeks of smoke! That wretch actually smoked all over the house & dropped the ashes in cans & on the counter in the kitchen!!!! I am almost as mad about the smoking as her getting sloshed! NO ONE has ever smoked in this house, not even Warwick with his three pack a day habit! grrrrr.

Anyways, I sprayed citrus room freshener. NOw it just smells like oranges & ashes. blech.

I hope it all goes ok with them.

Here they are saying 13 dead and thousands injured in Porta Gouda (?). Glad everyone on the list is ok.

Oh moms not here...lol...my dad called at 545 n the morning to make sure i was ok. It woke her up...I was talking to dad & told her to go the He# & back to bed. She got in her car & left. So far I have not seen her when she was sober enough to bother telling her I am moving. Only reason I am even going to tell her is because she works at the Uhaul place & I need to rent a Uhaul to put my stuff in.

WEll...she slept for several hours so I'd hope so. Have not heard from her since. My dad is going to come down with some of the guys who work with him & collect my belongings in probably a week or two. (thank heavens, I had no idea what I was going to do as W. is too busy for the next month with work stuff) Dad says we may as well move mom back up north then....not sure how he wants me to handle it. Maybe I will just call & say hey, the train is going back up north next week, come now or forever hold your peice. I don't know if dad plans on giving her the money to get a place or waht though. I do know she is NOT staying with me.

According to the map in the paper this morning, when Charley exited Daytona Beach, it went out in the ocean and completely skipped GA and then came ashore again in SC and did a wee bit of damage, hit the outer banks of NC and then scurried on up the Eastern seaboard and was in New York and New England states by
