Guest guest
~ You may not have confirmed diagnoses, but that is because they dont know yet. Please file anyway. You are in process of trying to find out. They will have a disability doctor do a physical on you, and you can be sure this doctor knows all your problems. The doc that saw me did a good job with my report. You will have to fill out tons of papers, just be sure and write every thing down on there...from brain fog, to extreme fatigue, from aches and pains to nausia.... anything you have had in the last few years or how ever long you have been ill, write it all down........write down why you are unable to work.......Start making lists now They offer re-training too, if you cant go back to the work you used to do.......You will need a list of all the doctors you have seen their addresses and phone numbers as well as why you saw them. Please, do the questionaire, and do fill out the social security disability papers you can do it online......and just see what there is for you...... Give it your best shot, and if turned down, appeal it. You have paid in to social security, if you need it, you deserve to get it. I know people that got it easily, for me, it took me 3 1/2 years to get it, but persistance got me there. I have a very compromised body to deal with. So.......give it your best shot ! Guest guest
Thank you Patty and Dee Dee, I am going to order the Canary labs. I think they are just using the Diansos test now, not the ZRT for the adrenals. Anyway, I hope they will show what the normal ranges are, so that I can compare my numbers to what is normal. I can say that fatigue is one of my biggest issues--I sleep about 16 hours a day and am awake for about 8 hours a day (the opposite of what is considered normal). And for the 8 hours I am awake I feel quite fatigued. The only thing that helps is caffeine, but I try to avoid that since it is not good for one's health and in particular could increase the size of my uterine fibroid (which is another health problem I am having). Some people have suggested I try sublingual B12 for energy. Does anyone have any opinion on that? Re SSDI, Florida, where I live is a very stict state for getting approved. The only confirmed diagnoses I have are optic neuritis and the uterine fibroid. I can see 20/30 in my right eye with glasses,so I am not considered disabled in that regard even though I can only see 20/70 in my right eye with glasses. Even though I agree that the fatigue is debilitating and makes me unable to work, I don't think SSDI is going to consider " fatigue " a diagnosis that meets their criteria. I know this because I ironically used to do some work involving state Disability claims, so I know their criteria. As to work, I was working in the mental health field before getting ill. I will look into what the church has to offer, but I am not sure how they can specifically help my situation, other than the spiritual aspects. Any other thoughts? > > Hello ~ > I too used Canary Lab. Guest guest
, Definitely B12 is effective if you have any deficiencies in B12 at all...I remember the immediate energy lift I got when I took some B12. I had access to the B12 injectable (cyanocobalamin), but you can get a more effective form called Methylcobalamin, available in sublingual tablets. They are inexpensive and it is definitely worth the effort to get these and take them. As for church, I know that they can help you with finding either cheaper places to live, finding a roommate to share expenses, or finding someone with the desire to assist those who need occasional help in the house, either with fixing things, cooking things, cleaning, car care, and whatever else comes up. There are many different ways that you can reach out and get assistance, not only with spiritual needs, but physical. Jesus commanded us to care for those who have physical needs, and a good church will have a vibrant ministry in this area. Patty > > > > Hello ~ > > I too used Canary Lab. Guest guest
How does a person get the B12 injectables? My doctor gave it to me once in his office. It didn't do anything for me--just the one dose. For frequent injections, would I need to go to the doctor's office regularly, or do they sometimes give you a bunch of bottles and let you do it yourself at home? In the meantime, I will order the sublingual B12 and see if that helps. At this point I think fatigue has become my biggest issue of all. I feel overwhelmed with the idea of filling out the SSDI papers with a high chance of denial. I have not worked in 2 years now due to my illness, with the exception of a couple of temp jobs for maybe a few weeks. I have been procrastinating on this SSDI thing for so long now- -partly because I think I will be denied (from hearing other people's experiences, especially in Florida) and partly because I feel like it is giving up. Also, I qualify for $1100 a month in SSDI if I am approved, which still will not be enough to live on, but it would help of course. Most people I know here in Florida, even with a confirmed MS diagnosis, had to appeal 3 times and it took 3 years for them to get approval. I will have run out of money way before then. I just want to be my old self again (or a new healthy self). I really want to work and be active. This illness thing is so not me. And I am only 41. I am so scared. Well, thanks for listening and for all the good ideas. I have my good and bad moments, I guess. > > > > > > Hello ~ > > > I too used Canary Lab. Guest guest
Sweetheart, being denied is not YOUR failure...... it would be **failure of the system,** a very broken system, not you ! ! ! I understand how you feel, but YOU are NOT = to failure ! ! ! You must try to start changing your mind thoughts...... Start practicing it, practice changing every negative mind thought into a positive one.....even if it is just saying, boy I got an education by that one ! , as practice makes perfect ! Negative thinking adds to illness 10 fold ! ! ! I know......as I am a perfect example of that ! ! well, I used to be...........it can keep you in a whirlwind.......a nasty cycle of negative brings negative.... as positive fades into the wind..........you need to turn the table and cycle around of positive brings positive as negative fades into the wind... Here read part of my story here: Breast Implant Survivors Day , http://www.humanticsfoundation.com/dede.htm, if the link doesnt work, then copy and paste the web page into your browser. Remember as you read it, it does not include 10 years of pure hell spent extremely ill having 6 surgeries to help remove all the tumors and masses of cystic-gangreous junk caused by a silicone rupture.... I will write about it soon to add to my page....also there is 2 years more of current stuff to add........ You know all these scenarios you are repeating in your head and right here in your note can actually create your reality ! ! ( I feel overwhelmed with the idea of filling out the SSDI papers with a high chance of denial. ) Please dont let " thoughts " of failure overwhelm you. that is a waste of energy that you need to use for healing...... Do yourself a favor, and just " doit " ! Let an attorney handle it for you....., and it will be their burden, not yours. the only burden you will have is all the paperwork.........and just consider that paperwork as details....or practice for working again......... Be sure and include the fact that you had to stop working 2 years ago due to illness, and they can backtrack some of the time for you. Include every single detail, so they have the whole picture of what you have gone through and what may be ahead. You have worked for it, and put money into the system for years now, for when you get older, or in case you became disabled, and girl, right now, you are unable to work due to illness, and it is your money ! Let an attorney worry about it........he will be getting paid when it is all settled..... File, now....just do it.......and let someone else handle your worries. Guest guest
, B 12 injectables are usually only available by prescription. However, there are sources for getting it without it, if you know who to ask. I have purchased B12 through one of these sources (pharmacy) and in my state you can buy syringes OTC, so that is what I did. Most doctors won't let you do this at home on your own. I found them to be very stingy even in giving the B12 injection...they're very numbers oriented and you have to show a clear need for it. But B12 is not toxic if you take too much...not at all, from what I understand. I knew a woman who took a shot every day, (she had suffered from Chronic fatigue and B12 was one of her favorite supplements.) She had vials of the stuff. But most docs won't give it out. It is prescription, so they are very careful with it. It makes no sense to me. That being said, the sublinguals should work fine if you take enough of them. As far as the SSDI goes, I think having an attorney help you get it filed is key. Otherwise, you languish for years...so you can go it alone, or get help, but it is often more expedient getting that lawyer involved. Were the cases you heard about lawyer assisted? I've heard Florida is hard. Taking SSDI is not giving up...it is getting assistance financially because you need it....just consider it a gift from God when you get it because He knows your needs...and still do what you can to get better. We understand how desperately you want to be your old self. We've been there, girlfriend. It's no fun being unable to function like you used to. Really take a good look at your diet..have you gone gluten free? Given up dairy? Given up sugar? Those would be key for MS sufferers. (McDougal diet I believe.) MS is one of those diseases that can go either way...you can go into remission permanently, but the question you have to decide is when to seek alternative medicine for healing, and when to go with allopathic. Allopathic medicine can give you the drugs to make you more comfortable, but they can't really heal it. Keep searching....the answers you need will be there. They have to be, because you are going to make it, somehow. Hugs, Patty > > > > > > > > Hello ~ > > > > I too used Canary Lab. Guest guest
, My son found the Vitamin B 12 on line at a Canadian pharmacy for 15.99. If you want,, I can ask him the name of it. He decided to go on it also for fatigue and anxiety issues. I have been taking sublingual off and on for years and have not noticed anything. The injectable has made a big difference in my energy and focus in just 6 days. Some websites say to do it everyday for a week, then once a week for a month and then once a month. Thats my plan. Guest guest
Thanks Patty, I really don't think a lawyer will take my case for SSDI without me having an actual diagnosis. The neurologist I have been seeing for 2 years still won't give me the diagnosis because I don't have lesions. He wants me to get a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) but I am not willing to, as I have heard of people who were never the same after that and I also have herniated disks and I cannot take the risk. I tried going to two other doctors and they said the same thing about thinking I have MS but not being willing to give me the diagnosis without the lesions--especially since I'm not in a wheelchair or anything visible, so they don't see my case as extreme and my main neurologist who I've been seeing for 2 years said he wouldn't write a strong letter for me without the lesions--and he is the doctor that SSDI will be accessing most of my records from since I have seen him the most. So given all this, even if a lawyer would take my case without a diagnosis, I do not believe I will get approved. No, I have not opted for allopathic medicine except for LDN. I do the gluten/casein/legume free diet but it hasn't helped. That is why I am in this group now trying to do various detox methods--as that seems all that is left. I am not even a candidate for allopathic med, as I do not have the relapsing-remitting type, and that is the only type they have meds for--even though I don't think those meds help most anyway. Anyway, that is the situation there. It is pretty dismal. On another note, I have been trying very hard today to order the Canary labs adrenal saliva test. The instructions on lisay you have to register first with them. I did that and was able to log in. But for the life of me I can't find any link on the website to actually order the test. There is a link that says " ordering and test information " and when I click on that there is only information about the test--There is no link to actually order it. I tried calling the company several times, only to get a voicemail...I know you and others bought this test in the past--Did you have any trouble with the ordering? I sent the company an email as well, so hopefully I will hear back from them and be able to order it soon. Thanks, > > > > > > > > > > Hello ~ > > > > > I too used Canary Lab.
