Gatorade contains water, table sugar (sucrose), citric acid, monopotassium phosphate, glucose-fructose syrups, sodium chloride (table salt), sodium citrate and flavoring/coloring ingredients. (all pretty much toxic to the body). However, in 2006 the drink was remade with some more added ingredients like monosaccharides and carbohydrates. Because of these added ingredients Gatorade claimed that the drink rehydrated athletes better than water and also, the flavour added made it more convenient to drink. If you drink a whole bottle of Gatorade you are consuming about 56 grams of sugar — this is not required in a normal sedentary lifestyle — and in this situation it could be considered “bad†for you.
