Hi,

I wrote earlier regarding Hair Loss having saline implants in October 2007. After 4 months, I've noticed Hair Loss. Just several weeks ago, for the first time, I believed to had UTI. I had it for 4 days until I started drinking Cranberry juice and took antibotics. I no longer have UTI however, should I be aware or scare of anything? Should I go to the dr although I did have UTI?

Thank you,

And those of us who have had implants and been sick have experienced UTI's more frequently.. ..This is a frightening scenario that may be repeated more and more often in the future, as these bacteria develop antibiotic resistance.. .and become "superbugs". We will have nothing to fight against them. They are mutating so fast...and the medical world cannot keep up. Scary. So sad....such a young life lost so early..Patty>> I've been told and it appears she had implants ... could they have> compromised her immune system?> > http://www.huffingt onpost.com/ 2009/01/24/ mariana-bridi-

No, there is no need to get frightened of anything since you took

antibiotics. I assume you got them from a doctor, and since it's been

several weeks, you are not in any danger. If you were in danger, you

would know that something was terribly wrong. If the UTI is gone, you

should be okay.

If you continue to get UTI's, you will need to make sure you take

action right away...I have had a number of them when I was sick, and

had to go to the emergency room to get an IV antibiotic. I learned

that when that burning feeling started up, to get going with my

natural therapies...which included drinking no sugar added cranberry

juice, and gallons of water. I would fill up a jug of water, take a

book with me, and head to the bathroom. There I would just drink as

much water as possible, and pee out as soon as the urge hit. I would

drink and pee, drink and pee for hours until I felt better.

The problem with UTI's is that the bacteria will tend to hang onto the

lining of the bladder, and so it is necessary to keep the bladder as

empty as possible. Cranberry juice has something in it that keeps the

bacteria from hanging onto the bladder lining, from what I understand.

So, drinking lots of cranberry juice is a good thing, but most of it

is highly sugared. Even if you bought the unsweetened stuff, you can

make it more palatable by adding stevia instead and it will be much

healthier for you.

Thank you Patty!

This article really scared me where I could not sleep last night. My husband believes that Im reading too much into this and other articles. I do agree with him now.

A good friend of mine who is a nurse said the same as you did. Hydrate yourself with water

and gatorade.

One of my best friends has been considering having saline implants in the near future. After reading all of the articles in the last week, I will ensure to tell her NOT to go ahead with the surgery. I now regret having this done. I hate having to worry about my health. However I will be keeping track of any other symptoms if they continue to arise.

Thank you once again and GOD bless you for responding to everyones concerns. Your wonderful!

,

Aw, Thanks for the kind words. My husband said the same things to me

about all my reading...it's easy to get really scared with all of this

stuff. I mean, it's something to be concerned about, but the added

stress and worry isn't going to help matters much. He's just worried

about you.

So, just try not to get too upset about the implant mess, try to take

care of yourself as best you can, and just be cognizant of little

changes in your health along the way. If you start to notice stuff,

you can take action. I'm glad you are realizing the liability

implants present themselves to be....it is really hard to have peace

of mind when you keep wondering if something is going to happen. I'm

glad you will be advising your friend to skip having them! In the

long run, it's not worth it, as you are coming to realize.

In the meantime, please put some money aside for future needs. With

implants, you will definitely need the money for any extra surgery

that is going to happen down the road. They did tell you to plan on

replacing, right? NOt that I think replacing is a good idea...My

feeling is that when you get to the point of needing to replace

(either through rupture or leak, or whatever), it's time to just get

off the merry go round altogether and get them out for good.

Try not to worry about your health, and try to enjoy life as fully as

you can. We'll be here if you need us, and hopefully you won't!

Hugs,

Patty
