I'm sorry, I mispoke, the Nutrisca was $10/4lb bag. Also, I've used the Newman's Own but it does still have grain, I think (I don't have a bag anymore to double check). But I know you can get it cheaper at Walmart. I think I paid about $7 when I bought it. If you look for the Nutrisca, I think you'll have to try a Petco or something like that. I bought it at a locally owned pet supply (that's where I found frozen raw food - which really is better than kibble but way more expensive).

Ok, thanks I will look for that. I bought the Newman's stuff (at Publix) and it was 10$ for a 3 lb bag. He did eat it, but just a bit. He's a bit on the tubby side., we adopted him for Gabi's birthday coming up so she is saying it is hers. ;-)Cool thing, he looks like our other two previous cats, and was already declawed. So yay, I didn't do the evil deed, but my new couch may survive. ;-)

We were using frozen raw food but it's expensive. The only reason we were using it is because when we adopted our dog, she was incredibly obese and I needed to cut her calories dramatically so I wanted to make sure every bit of it was nutrition, not filler. Since she's lost all the weight, I recently switched back to kibble and it's completely grain free and potato free (the most common fillers). It's called Nutrisca but I don't know if they make cat food. $10 for a 5lb bag.

Toni, I read your post and sat here falling off my chair laughing. Partly because a) It was one very long day and I am slap happy from exhaustion. B) I give it three months and you'll have this cat on the LOD and 3) you know you've been hanging around here way too long when you can predict the speeches you'll get from fellow listmates AND you're smart enough to nip it in the bud before it happens. :-)How's your son doing? Still nutso this week? Mine has settled down. Might I suggest you give yours more taurine, magnesium, or magnesium taurate? :-) This helped here.

Lol! You just got me to read the full label for you:No gluten, soy, corn, wheat, flour, BHA/BHT, added steroids, ethoxyquin, added hormones, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. So Nutrisca is at least GFCFSF with omega 3 & 6 & DHA. ;)

He's doing ok. I took him off the sach b and the enzyme for a trial and he's been better. I'll reintroduce one then the other and see what happens. Last night was a big test - we had his football banquet and that went great. Keeping my fingers crossed. lmao! Funny, funny, stuff. The boys used to have 2 mice. 1 died. The other lived a lonely existance on the highest shelf on the bookcase (this came to be after I caught various family members attempting to open the cage). I fb with an old school friend - she agreed to take the mouse. The mouse is now her office mate and feasts each day on fresh seeds and organic dried fruit. It must feel like little orphan Annie going to live with Daddy Warbucks after living here in this house. To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Sun, January 23, 2011 1:53:17 AMSubject: Re: OT - Pet food (new cat)

You're too much : )-TammyFrom: Toni Marie Lombardo

Hi,We have a new cat. I bought Newman's Own organic cat food for him. Is there another brand you recommend/feed your own pets?I am looking for something that doesn't rely on fillers and such... so I thought my fellow health food junkies may already have

done the legwork on this for their own pets. (For my bio-med friends who feel concern over toxoplasmosis and it's relation to schizophrenia in children, I am aware of this.)Thanks!--
