Losing weight is not always a great thing. I weigh around 115-120 lbs and am 5' 7 " . When I'm on the anti-Candida diet it's all I can do to keep from wasting away into nothingness. It's really fun when your waistbands are all sagging and none of your bras fit anymore because you dropped 5 or 10 pounds. It's really fun when your face looks totally gaunt..... I don't know if it's my high metabolism or what (if you remember, my first post to this list a month or so ago was regarding this very topic and I think I got maybe one reply) but I literally have to eat constantly to maintain my weight. Guest guest
Hi Joan, I don't mind the questions. When I was firs dx my liver function was up to the 700,s. I was put on Prednisone 10mg. i reacted really well and each month after my blood test, he would drop the dose 1mg. I also had the biopsy about 3 months after dx. The result was good. Only a small amount of scare tissue. Eventually I was down to 3mg per day and the dr spoke to me about Imuran. He said if I wanted to have another baby to do so now as I was in remission and to have one prior to goning onto Imuran. I check with my gyno/ob and he said no worries. So I stayed on 3mg Pred. the whole pregancy. My husband and I thought from being so sick that I might have trouble falling pregnant. But no. One month later, I was. I had blood tests every week for the first month to make sure my liver was ok. I had on problem during the pregancy, until 32 weeks. I started going into prem labour, and I was admitted to hospital. For five weeks I was in hospital, going into partial labour nearly every second day. I was put on ventalin, to stop contractions. My uterus was contracting, but I would not dialiate. This was very hard, and very depressing, as I was in pain most days, put they would keep stopping my labour, so the baby was not born to early. I got to 37 weeks, they stopped the ventilan, and I had my son in under two hours.!!!!( I said to them, 'I told you that he wanted to get out! " ) LOL Anyway, they said that they don't know if the AIH caused this to happen, or maybe it would of happened anyway. I was dx about 6 months after having my first son, and about 7 months after my second, they now have dx me with Sjogren Syndrom aswell. So Im happy with my two boys Jack and . We are not going to have any more. I don't think I could go through another pregancy. It's to risky for me and the baby, mentally, and a very high chance of miscarrage and prem birth. What do you have now a boy or girl? This might not happen to you. I had my first son at 36 weeks, I went into early labour with him also. So it might not have been the AIH. I got very tired through the pregancy, but thats AIH and pregnancy anyway, but the two together does make you very tired. was fine, they said he was very healthy 6 pound 8. The steriods didn't effect him at all. I think, I'm not sure, but with Imuran, I don't think you can have a baby for about 6 months after stopping taking the drug. But don't quote me on that, I'm not sure. Sorry for the large answer, I hope it helps. I'm glad, even as hard as it was, I love my son.!!! Please let me know how you are going. Stay well and keep smiling - Anne [ ] Anne > Hi, > I hope you don't mind all the questions but when I was diagnosed 11/98 I > was planning to have another child. But that was put off. Guest guest
Dear Anne, I know how you feel. If you could only sit down and talk to another PBCer, it sure would help. Have you registered with the PBCers support group? They will give you a list of others with PBC. I know there are serveral from the UK on that list. One in particular is a nice lady named Caroline from London. You register by going to PBCers.com. I rarely post to that group. I get the info in digest form. There is a lot of information for people with PBC. Take care,

I think when you get overwhelmed it takes more than a couple of days to really work. Though I am not complaining...I take whatever breaks I can get! My dh just had hernia/repair surgery on Friday and we assumed via the dr.'s office that it would be 2 weeks recover. On the way home he tells me he can't lift the kids (meaning take care of them himself) for 4 to 6 weeks!!! I was not ready to hear that. I am going to hire babysitters lest I go insane which is a possibility by week 3. LOL!!! People in general need a balance and parent's of special needs kids just need it more often....however, we usually get it less. Take care Anne and hope you get another break soon! Guest guest
Sorry l have taken so long to thankyou for the websits.I haven't had a chance to look at them yet but l defintely will. You asked what l had and if there is a possibility of a live doner. There is no chance of a live doner. What l have is schlorosing Choliangitis that is the medical word for it. My problems actualy started about 4 years ago with my gale bladder. It started making hundreds and hundreds of very small gale stones which started to block the bile ducts and my body started destroying its self l spent about 4 weeks in intensive care my family was told to prepare themselves the doctor were convinced l was going to die thankfully l didn't. I also had 2 operations within 3 months afterwards which has caused alot of damage in the stomach. Because of it l am now an insulin diabetic. The bile ducts that are at the top of the liver are closing and they can't put anything inside them to keep them open. The blood vessels in the liver are blocking and not letting enough blood through.Sorry if the notes a bit long but thanks again for the web sites. I am sorry to hear about Daryl l hope you are doing well. Bye for now
Guest guest
Anne, I guess I was going from my experience with our previous doctor who was so called " familiar " with the Dan! protocol. Starting out he came recommended to me, but, other parents starting leaving because he was only focusing on certain things and not doing any thing that they were interested in. Personally, he was very compassionate and wanted to help. Needless to say, he closed his practice in November and we need a new doctor. I di not mean to imply that DAN! doctors are ignorant, I just think some of them go about doing things differently and if you are going to use one, make sure that they have a good reputation and what kind of protcols they use or advocate. Blessings! Ginger
Guest guest
Also remember that the same doctor that one person raves about may be terrible for you. Check out how they approach treatment and how they listen to and respect you. All DAN doctors are not alike. They vary widely.

Guest guest
Hello my friends: I appreciate your reply: For spasitiy; which I surmise are caused by an interference of some sort from the Mind to the Nerves which are called Nuerotranmitters. I would therefore advise Nutrients comprised of various known enablers of Neurotrnamitters such as: " CHOLINE *INOSITOL *THIAMINE VITAMIN B1 *OMEGA'S 3'S; 6'S AND 9'S such as *Fish Oils; Borage Oils; Primrose;Flax;Hemp-Seed Oil. You want to strengthen up the nerves with Neurotransmitters; Vitamins and proteins; esp. plant proteins; like fresh and steamed Greens. If you told me which protocols you have already tried I could help you OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT; VITAMIN D IS ESSENTIAL FOR SPASICITY;ASK DOC. *Vitamin D is found in Sunlight;Fish;Fish-bones;Fish-oils;Egg-Yolks. (a very scare Vitamin in Nature this is why *Cod-Liver Oil is used because Cod-Liver Oil has both Vit. A(pure form Retinol and Vit. D.
