Guest guest
Well, if anyone could enlighten me also about Dong Quai. Having estrogen dominance I am worried this stuff would wack my system into another universe. But most of my readings on wemon who have experienced menopause, this stuff works well. What I don't know is if it produces estrogen or progesterone. Soon as I hit that time in my life I guess I'll find out soon enough. Also the Black Cohosh confuses me also. The reading material I had mentions that both of these herbs regulate hormonal production. I tried black cohosh once and my PMS flared up like crazy. -Taboo- LIZ D > [Original Message] > From: BOGS <lcyr@...> > <candidiasis > > Date: 5/3/01 1:00:04 PM > Subject: Hormonal balance > > Has anyone ever tried Dong Quai for balancing your horomones?(all you women > out there) Usually I am quite sick before, during, and after my period and > my mother suggested that I try it. Guest guest
Ladies, I wanted to share my own testimony of using hormones as an improvement in my wellbeing. After reading various books on using natural hormone replacement, I took the plunge and started using natural, bio-identical hormones. I am 11 years post explant, but the use of natural hormones, including Armour thyroid, has been a vital part of my health regime for the past 7 years. Detoxing is vital as well. I felt better when I added in the estrogen--my brain fog had kicked in again a little bit with added work to my schedule, and the estrogen helped that brain fog alot. But then I noticed some left arm pain flaring that was a new symptom for me. I backed off of the hormones, out of concern for my arm. I knew that estrogen use can be implicated in heart conditions, and I needed to watch this carefully. That was at least a year ago. However, going through menopause and seeing some unwanted symptoms arising in a minor way, I decided to go on the hormones again, but this time, I incorporated the use of cayenne pepper. I believe that I have an issue with sticky blood, thick blood, or possibly even antiphospholipid syndrome. I see that someone recently posted that this was diagnosed for them...I think it perhaps may be a greatly overlooked aspect of our illness. I knew that my blood thickness was an issue. I am really happy to report that with the use of the cayenne, my arm pain has vanished completely!! Cayenne is going to be in my daily regime from now on. And I'm also happy to report that since using the hormones in a manner consistent with my normal hormonal cycle, I have my period back! This is after going through menopause starting sometime in 2006. Some women may see that as a negative, but I myself do not. I love feeling healthy and alive! If hormones are the way to accomplish this safely, then I am all for it. I just wanted to share this with you who may be struggling with how to approach menopause and healing. I believe there are answers available to help us feel great, if we look in the right places. I wish everyone great health! Patty
