Guest guest
With Rob, he too - his serum b12 levels came back normal -- yet, he had EVERY sign of B12 def. I argued with his DAN, and she agreed (unwillingly) to do the nasal (which I think Rob does the best on)...and HOLY COW what a difference. It was night and day. She agreed too -- within a month -- it was like his processing speed went from 0 to 60. It was very obvious. Now, he just got tested again (she did a serum B12) that came back severely def. - he's been gluten/casien/wheat/dairy free for over a year, he gets shots daily, and still showing def...I am like WTH! Although. After reading your posts, I might not be giving the shot correctly. My sister (other one, not the one with Crohns) is a nurse, and she has been administering the shot (because he's in FL) and she said that I might have been going overboard. Whoops! So, we are going to revisit it again...but, I think the explanation was - essentially - and in not so many words -- wheat/milk products create this sticky mucus that covers up the villi in the small intestine (where vitamins are taken up) - once you remove this sticky mucus crap, the villi are no longer 'matted' down, and can do their job. The sticky mucus creates this environment where after a period of time, they (the villi) shrivel up and die, (not good)...so getting nutrition is difficult because this avenue has been severely injured. Since nutrition is how the body functions, and this avenue is impaired, then regardless of how much you eat, or how much 'healthy' things you eat, you might not be maximizing the potential for nutrition. In the Ann Louise Gittleman book " Fat Flush " , she touts drinking a glass of warm water with the juice of a 1/2 of a lemon each morning upon rising. This helps clear out the mucus. I am pretty sure that Cliff Sheats " Lean Bodies " also says the same thing, and I know that Max Gerson was into no dairy or grains or meat -- for that very reason. Mucus. So I keep reading it over and over...so lemon is good for mucus. I always put it in my juicer drinks. Also good for the liver. Can't go wrong with that. laura > > > > > > HI all: > > > My daughter is non verbal. Guest guest
Yasko recommends elephant doses of B12. But if the child is COMT++ (considered an overmethylator like mine) she prefers hydroxy B12, along with adensol, and cyano B12 to MB12. Patches, oral drops, oral pills, and shots is what she recommends daily. > > > > HI all: > > My daughter is non verbal. Guest guest
Yes, find a good ND [Natural doctor] Dan dr. and contact Corby at Autism Solution Center in Cordova Tn. She helps families worldwide. Her brain/body needs healing. This works! McCarthy generation Rescue site has good info. Click on the link that says Autism Yesterday. Watch the video. You will need support and have to be a warrior for your child. Start with all natural diet slowly. Grapes, orange slices, veges raw if possible, bananas, apples & almond butter, fish fish fish and fish oils.Anything that comes from the ground and as raw as you can, and local farmers markets usually have the best. Rice or coconut milk, organic juices and clean water. Start with diet. It;s a must. Get the bread and everything out of the house. Get her tested and start bio meds Heal the body heal the mind. We were down to 1 or 2 words, sentences were gone. I now have a chatterbox:}. Took a lot of crap from many, researched all night sometimes, read everything I could get my hands on. 1 1/2 years later my child is totally different. Cheleation worked for us. If anyone is thinking about cheleation, talk to your DAN dr. Extra vitamins are needed and it caused nightly bedwetting. You have a window of time to hurdle thru this, BUT IT DOES WORK. Let me know if I can help Always Call Christie Gravatt We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience! Guest guest
ThanksCheryl! Did you ever see an increase in stimming or agitated behavior? We actually did try it very briefly with a therapist who was not as well-trained in it as she should have been. My daughter seemed to have better articulation after the first cd, but the second one caused stimming and she was very irritable. She turned three right around that time so Early Intervention ended and we had to wait months to start out patient OT, so we never went back to it. I want to try it again - I was just curious to know if there are any negative side effects. Did you do it twice a day every day? - Kirk- To: mb12 valtrex From: cheryl.biomed.mom@...Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2011 17:59:24 -0800Subject: Re: speech If your therapist will do it, I would do it in a heartbeat. It was awesome for us. You can do it yourself if you need to, there are many home programs (we used www.vitallinks.net through both the SD and early intervention). It *does* help with the brain/body connection. The most areas I found it helped - self-regulation and expressive/receptive language. If you decide to do it and have questions, I'm happy to help. I know a lot of people that were helped in the sensory department (my son wasn't so sensory so we didn't see much there because there wasn't enough to see). I can't say if it did or didn't help with potty training - we started it well before getting there so I don't know. We started it at about 2.5 and potty trained him at 3.5. Cheryl ~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~ ~@Gryffins_Tail~ Cheryl, Can you tell me more about the therapeutic listening? My PDD daughter has poor articulation (she speaks in sentences - just very hard to understand). Also, she is 3 1/2 and absolutely refusing to potty train. I have been told by her OT that therapeutic listening can help with the brain/body connection, which in turn helps with potty training, sensory issues, sleeping issues, etc (she has all of these). If you wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts/experiences with this, I would appreciate it. Guest guest
I have my 3.5 y.o. daughter on the usual speech supps (MB12, carnosine, DMG) and all are working to lift the verbal apraxia somewhat. Both my kids are on the spectrum (I also have a 2 y.o. son on the spectrum). We have my dd in ABA right now and don't have the funds to start my son on it so when he was diagnosed, the centre that diagnosed him is running a study on Pivotal Response and they put my son in the program (the condition to the program is that he is not doing any other forms of therapy at this time for the next six months until the study is complete). I gotta say, the strategies are quite effective at getting word approximations from both of them. I think when the supps work and the apraxia lifts, the kids need to change what's " normal " and we have to change what's " normal " in the house by expecting requests and responses. PR seems pretty good for changing that in our house. It's also working to get my kids looking at me and making requests to me as a person, rather than just stating a request into a room. I'm still in the process of being trained and have a number of modules to go through but I think the objective of the study is to get me to do it naturally so I don't need to set aside time to do it and to just do it throughout the day.  HI all:My daughter is non verbal. Any suggestions for supplements that you all have used that increased vocalization and communication?
