IE is all about 'no rules' so you do not have to sit down to eat. Yet it is a

suggestion because what that can do for you is to help be more aware (as in

mindfulness) of what and how you do eat. If you can, find a way to make eating

in a new way (such as sitting at a table) into a FUN or at least pleasant

experience. Make it a picnic? Set a fabulously beautiful place setting? How

about a mini-buffet of favorite foods? With such thoughts fore front, perhaps

this won't feel restrictive? If it still does, its OK to 'graze' but see if you

can make it mindful - really tasting food, checking in on satisfaction etc.

BEST to you, Katcha

IEing since March 2007

restrictive of me to say that I should only eat when I put something on a plate

and am sitting down at a table? I never had like a " family time " meal so I never

really learned eating etiquete. I dont know if this is a bad idea though. Any

thoughts/ideas?

IE is about learning about yourself, your eating & why you do what you do, or even do not do. Eating at a table, can help you eat slower in a more relaxed manner, so in turn can help you be more mindful. Yet if it is alien to you it can cause issues to start with. The solution is to go with your own flow, sit down to eat if you feel driven to, try it - yet do what you feel is best for you. You may find that by breaking your old ways of eating you see yourself from a new dimension. Pam
