I came across this blog article today from Nourishing Circle: http://www.nourishingcircle.com/intuitive-eating/?utm_source=feedburner & utm_medium=feed & utm_campaign=Feed%3A+NourishingCircle+%28Nourishing+Circle%29

It hits upon a lot of things we've been talking about here lately, especially some thoughts on how to react to, or reframe, " our old thoughts patterns and limiting beliefs " (read: negative thought patterns!).

This piece right here really sang to me. It's something I've been trying to remind myself lately, but hearing it so beautifully written really helped drive it home:

5. Life is a Teacher – Here is the thing, the real deal thing that no one ever really tells you about intuitive eating. You are going to have stumbling blocks. Maybe you call it backsliding, getting off track, falling off the wagon  – whatever. I can’t tell you how many of my fabulous clients have called with fear in their voices that they are right back where they started. But, they aren’t and you wont be either. Thing is, there is no track. This is your life and there are going to be ups and downs – sometimes, you are going to want to go back to dieting. You may even gain some weight. You might binge or eat something that makes your feel ill. You might burn your intuitive eating book and think you are a complete and utter failure. But here is the key that separates people who thrive as intuitive eaters and people who give up: All of these times are lessons. When you can learn from them, instead of beat yourself you, you will grow. What did diving hand first into the cookie jar teach you about the current state of your emotions and your life? Did you learn that when you don’t put yourself first it all goes to hell in a hand basket? Eventually, these lessons add up to something that you couldn’t even imagine before. When you know better, you can do better.
