Guest guest
Dawn- woowhoo on the cake! Isn’t that what being a grown up means, to eat what we want WHEN we want and trust ourselves? I too, had to recently finally except my current size. For the first time I took my measurements to have some hand tailored clothes. I was really scared to “see†my numbers, as if they negates the reality… like what? All the sudden I am a bazillion inches? No… but it did help me learn why some 14s do not fit me (especially dresses) and also to take the power back and not berate myself for not fitting a size. As an apple shaped woman, my waist is not much smaller than my bust but most fit models used in stores are either more hourglass or pear shaped so instead of hating myself for not fitting into clothes I cam to understand just body differences even at the same weight in a way I had not before… I found it really really empowering. On igigi.com it is a plus sized online store but they have a great quiz you can take for you to find out what shape you are and all their clothes have the list of shapes that outfit would flatter. http://www.igigi.com/cms/shapestylist/what-is-your-shape/ As a “diamond†I learned that I am pretty normal compared with other apple types, less defined waist with attributes in other areas like killer gams J So this was one of the ways I took my power back and learned to love my body which is unique and not standard “mold†as if anyone’s is? That’s why mass produced clothing causes misery for so many women… they use a fit model and base everything on that one body… call it a size whatever and call it the day, then we feel like crap because we are not size whatever,,,, but really that means just our body is different than the one fit model they used. This relevation was so powerful to me.
