Guest guest
Thank you Jen and Pat for the welcome to the group. I am a type two diabetic since July 10th Of 2009. I found out the hard way that I am a diabetic. I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with my blood sugar at 964, and my Kidneys were shutting down. I also had a real bad cut on my left leg I almost lost that leg. I was able to keep my Kidneys and no dialysis at this point of my life. Two days after I went into the hospital I had surgery on my left leg an I was able to keep it. I had to learn how to walk all over again with that leg. At this day and time my doctors have me on 35 units of insulin once a day. I also take Metformin 500mg a day half in the morning and the other at night. I am trying to behave myself so far my a1c has been at 5.4 every time I have had my blood tested. I am really looking forward to learning allot on this list. My name is Sugar, and I am totally blind, borderline II, with both a kidney and pancreas transplant due to hospital giving me wrong type of insulin as a child. I've had my kidney(donated by uncle) for 9 years now, and pancreas for 7, and though pancreas is slwly rejecting my a1c is at 5.5 and doing great. enjoy your stay sugar " When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. Guest guest
Hey Dave, I have my A1C blood test every three months and I check my blood sugar four times a day. I use the Prodigy Voice to test my blood and I like it allot more than the first one I had.
