Guest guest
No - we did 6 months of IVIG and we saw some nice things - but then his OCD and anxiety kicked in and we couldn't get near him with an IV after several tries with sedation and all. But - this is the reaction that we get also with strep. Last time we did a streptozyme his titers were high. I do and always have believed he has PANDAS....but have never tried antibiotic therapy.....but that's such a hard pill to swallow - no pun intended when he had so many antibitoics early on and they were a major part of the problem.....what else do you do? We have done LDN, IVIG, along with many supplements and it always comes back to his immune system. You make a very good point....this may not be the valtrex.....it could be strep. But that just leaves another big question mark.....but of course these epiphanies always come on a saturday...... -- Kasey Dettinger ---- Christel Church wrote: > are you doing anything now to treat the PANDAS? > > > > From: kldett@... > Sent: Saturday, January 29, 2011 2:00 PM > To: mb12 valtrex > Cc: Fund > Subject: Re: Don't know how much more I can take...... > > > > , > > I know my son has PANDAS.....we did 6 months of IVIG and it as going well until his anxiety and OCD got so bad we could not come near him with the IV. Guest guest
You need to get blood work such as ASO and anti-Dnase antibody titers to see if there has ever been a strep exposure, in the present or past. PANDAS experts are finding that not only strep is causing symptoms of PANDAS, but mycoplasma pneumonia (test myco-p IgA and IgM), lyme, and viral infections. Strep is often the first infection to start it, but any of these subsequent infections can exacerbate the craziness again. > > > RUN to your dr and get him tested for strep you just discribed PANDAS to a T and it's treatable and you can get QUICK results with the right antibiotic > > > > > > > > > > > > From: kldett@... > > > Sent: Saturday, January 29, 2011 10:19 AM > > > To: mb12 valtrex > > > Subject: Don't know how much more I can take...... > > > > > > > > > > > > I wrote a few days ago how awful this regression has been from the valtrex and diflucan....and someone suggested to go back and read Stan's paper which I did. It's been about 5 weeks and seriously I don't know how much longer I can watch him hit his head and bite and scratch himself/others. I am afraid he is going to hurt his sister. I can tell something is coming out of him right now because he is very raspy and sounds like his throat hurts. How bad do you let it get before you call it quits.....it is really affecting everyone in our home.....> > > > --> > > > Kasey> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >> >> >

> > > > > > RUN to your dr and get him tested for strep you just discribed PANDAS to a T and it's treatable and you can get QUICK results with the right antibiotic> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: kldett@... > > > > Sent: Saturday, January 29, 2011 10:19 AM> > > > To: mb12 valtrex > > > > Subject: Don't know how much more I can take......> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I wrote a few days ago how awful this regression has been from the valtrex and diflucan....and someone suggested to go back and read Stan's paper which I did. Guest guest
WE are using Dr Usmans biofilm protocol in conjunction with azithromycin to treat my sons PANDAS and we are eeing very good things across the board: happier child, aggressions are gone, anxiety is way down, language is up, math/handwriting has improved, less OCD but still there. Overall we are happy w/ his progress over the past 30 days. > > > > Subject: Don't know how much more I can take......> To: mb12 valtrex > Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 10:19 AM> > > > > > > I wrote a few days ago how awful this regression has been from the valtrex and diflucan....and someone suggested to go back and read Stan's paper which I did.
