Guest guest
That is wonderful news!! Here is my new one. I had this one today -- it's good too! -- these are also Feingold Friendly (I have a Feingold child at home) - this makes a lot... I had made mine with Fennel, but some kids may not like it. (I use it a lot, so my kids don't mind it.) Use little if you are going to try it. We call this one - The Big K. Why? Because it's got a lot of Vitamin K in it... 1/4 of a canteloupe (cut cantelope into 4 parts, use 1 part) 2 golden delicious apples 1/2 pineapple 1 lemon 6 sprigs of parsley 2 stalks of asparagus 2 stalks of Kale 1/2 inch ginger 1/2 shallot now for the health benefits! Parsley is high in Vitamin K! A much needed vitamin for all you low ox'er's! 2 tablespoons has 123 mcg of Vitamin K that's 154% of RDA! Aparagus is also high in Vitamin K too! Also high in Folate and Potassium. Kale also high in -- you guessed it, vitamin K... Ginger is great for digestion as is pineapple. Cantaloupe is high in potassium which is good for blood pressure, stress, and muscle cramps. But it's great for the immune system, which is why I picked it. And it's cooling. When your kids have jumped and played and are sweating, this is great to keep the blood cool. (My kids went 'jumping' today!) Also, for yeast we used Syntol and Candex. This did wonders for us. The Syntol uses strains that do not compete with each other. Both of my kids did great on these. If you have issues with watermelon, remove it, it makes it really sweet (for kids). Add instead 2 ripe pears - peeled. As your child gets healthier, you will need less fruit to juice, and juice mostly vegetables (with some apples). My kids will drink anything I put in front of them!! But it's a great way to get nutrition in them and do it fast. > > > > and here is what it's good for... > > > > lemon is a wonderful liver detoxer, phlem remover, and turns alkaline in the body. > > > > Ginger is a wonderful anti-inflammatory, helps with nausea, and stops intestinal gas (need w/cabbage!) - it also has a binding agent called Gingerol - that delivers other herbs where they are supposed to go. > > > > Cabbage juice is said to have many healing properties for the intestines, honestly, you should google it, and read some articles, they are totally fascinating!! > > > > Kale is high in chlorophyll which has many healing properties, and wonderful for the immune system and detoxing value. > > > > Apples contain malic acid which is great for digestion, maintaining the liver is distributed quickly when apples are juiced. Guest guest
,I just bought a juicer (should be here any day), and I plan to try your low-ox recipes. My kids have inflammation/malabsorbtion/leaky gut issues. Ever since we started supps, they have been pooping a lot and have not had a solid one in months. Would you recommend waiting til their systems regulate a bit before juicing for them? I just don't want to add to the 'problem' if you know what I mean. But if juicing helps them to heal, I'm all for starting right away. One more question - when you juice twice a day, does the juice generally replace a meal or do you still give them the same amount of food along with the juice? And if I juice veggies, can I skip giving them solid veggies (always a struggle)? Thanks for the advice!- Kirk-To: mb12 valtrex From: laurargoddin@...Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2011 04:46:28 +0000Subject: Re: Low Oxalate Juicer Drink Recipe - Drink #1 - and another recipe! (low ox) Dovile, When you are juicing a lot (which daily is considered a lot) -- your stools will be loose unless you are eating a high fiber diet. (forgot to mention that!) I noticed that for the first 2 weeks - my son's BM's smelled to high heaven, and now, they don't. This makes me think that juicing for them gives their little intestines a break for a while, and gets rid of the 'crud.' - My son also spends a lot less time on the toilet. We too, stopped using (as much) digestive enzymes. If the meal they are eating seems to be relatively easy to break down, I don't give enzymes. (They got chicken tonight, so I did give them one digestive enzyme chewable) But the one thing you will notice is that -- if they 'eat' a carrot, it's not whole, it's broken down to fibers. That's because they are getting the enzymes to break these things down from food, and their bile is working better. It also means they are getting the nutrition from eating a carrot. Ah yes. I will make a post for it. laura PS. Keep us updated. My kids are doing awesome!! > > > > > > > > > From: laurargoddin <laurargoddin@> > > > Subject: Low Oxalate Juicer Drink Recipe - Drink #1 > > > To: mb12 valtrex > > > Date: Friday, January 14, 2011, 6:29 PM > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > Here goes. - this makes about 16-20 oz of juicer drink. > > > > > > USE organic fruits/veggies whenever possible. > > > > > > 2 - 1 1/2 inch 'slices' watermelon > > > 1 lemon (rind removed) > > > 1/2 Pineapple > > > 2 golden delicious apples > > > 1/4 of green cabbage > > > 2 leaves and stalks of kale (just rinse) > > > 1/2 inch ginger > > > > > > This is good.
