Guest guest
I ALWAYS THOUGHT ONLY PIGS LIKE ME DRANK PICKLE JUICE. I USE TO GET IN TROUBLE ALL THE TIME AS A KID FOR DRINKING THE PICKLE JUICE ALL UP AND THE PICKLES DRYING OUT. I STILL LOVE SALT AND GOT TO BE CAREFUL. THINGS WITH OUT SALT OR MUCH SALT ARE JUST NASTY TASTING TO ME. I THINK GIVING UP SUGAR IS EASIER THEN GIVING UP SALT. LOVE SALTED PEANUTS, BUT PEANUTS WITH NO SALT? NASTY! YOU CAN ACTUALLY NOW BUY SMALL CONTAINERS OF PICKLE JUICE FOR 25 CENTS IN SOME STORES. I WAS TOLD THAT IF THERE WAS NO SALT IN THE PICKLE JUICE, THEN I WOULDN'T CARE FOR IT. I THINK THIS IS TRUE. THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM WITH MISSES DASH IS NO SALT TO MAKE IT TASTE RIGHT. salt cravings? There is a relationship between salt and insulin. Salt deficiency keeps insulin from entering the cells, and this may cause a build up of glucose in the blood stream. Some medical conditions require salt restriction like congestive heart failure. Salt adequacy is necessary for insulin and glucose to enter the cells of the body. I now have salt cravings, and sometimes they are fierce. I am on a salt restricted diet due to congestive heart failure. With my long history of sugar adiction I often wonder if this is the cause of my salt cravings. Do other diabetics have salt cravings like I do? Sipping a little pickle brine usually satisfies my craving for a while. curious persons want to know, Harry

Guest guest
Mrs. Dash has too much pepper for my taste. I quit using this when friend told me about " 17 Spices " . Here is S. CA, I can find it only in Smart and Final, but I highly recommend it. To me it tastes salty without having salt in it. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Friday, May 06, 2011 4:01 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: salt cravings?
