Guest guest
Someone was of the view: " Metformins HALF life is 6 hours. The effects of it last for 12 hours. If you take one every 6 hours, you will get very low blood sugar. " At 6 hours half remains, at 12 1/4 remains. The size of the pill is designed to keep a given level in the blood. They start out with a larger size so over time the average will be the required level. While the effect might last 12 hours it is likely not at a level to be effective. This is why one might spread more smaller pills over a day to keep levels near what is required. It is also the design of the slow release forms to do the same. Metformin does not cause lows.
