Good for you! Winter can really create a problem with moods especially if you live in a snowy cold, gray, cloudy  region. I wish I could have dogs to walk. That sounds like fun and good motivation.  They're not allowed where I live, but I go for walks with my friends as best I can(pain in hips).  I like to ride my bike too(it's a 3-wheel bike because of balance problems).  Everyone in my mobile home park rides or walks and I live in Florida so the weather is usually nice.  Except in the summer the temperatures get up in high 90's and then we walk in the Malls and air conditioning. Do you belong to the Y or a gym? I am very fortunate that as a senior and with Humana health care I get free membership at the local YMCA.  They have a pool and so does my mobile home park and I live near the ocean.  If my balance issues resolve enough I love to go dancing.  What do you like to do? Anyone else with suggestions?  I'm looking for other alternatives for fun exercise. Jo, I am really happy that you are doing well.  Sometimes any of us say things we don't realize are negative criticism and hurt people. I am glad you are back on track. Keep us posted. Thanks. Your comments help all of us too. Sandy

I'm excited to have this venue to share with you; however, I have not posted for a while as I felt someone criticized me once and it was a negative trigger for me. Anyway I'm really enjoying my IE journey and I've learned so much and I feel I've come such a long way. I've relooked at things again these past couple of weeks and I've had a wonderful week that I wanted to share. I think the rebel in me was out for a while and I was going against everything that was diet; however, I have been feeling rather unwell for a while (more so in winter from the winter blahs). I've been lethargic, uninterested, having joint problems, even my blood pressure's been up – my blood pressure has never been high!! So these past couple of weeks I feel like I'm finally finding balance and feeling better in my own skin. I'm typically an all or nothing type person but feel like I'm finding balance with my food choices and it's all good and it works for me. I've been excited about getting out to walk my dogs and I've been trying different things for physical activity – I like to sweat, I like a good work out and it doesn't have to be because of the scale. I've been trying to do and eat things that I enjoy and stop rebelling that it may have once been from my diet days; rather something that makes me happy and makes me feel good. This all came about because I've been so lethargic I have not wanted to go out and I'm a social person. Maybe I was even getting a little depressed but not now 'I'm finding balance and feeling good.'

Thanks,

Jo.
