Guest guest
I have undergone ten endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) assisted celiac plexus nerve blocks. The published data indicates a 70% success rate of some level of pain management or relief for an average of fourteen weeks. In my case, the first one did not work. And it caused several hours of explosive diarrhea. Each subsequent block gave me varying levels of pain control from three months to now almost two years! The combination of the blocks, increased amounts of Viokase and my daily cocktails of Ultram with Prozac, I've not needed any heavy narcotic analgesics. I've had the blocks at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, New York. Dr. Gress is my endoscopist. -E
