Guest guest
So, here's an update of what's been going on the past 5 days or so. With the help of you all here, we determined that was reacting to an increase in foods and supps (Enhansa) high in phenols. We cut out the phenols as of Tuesday morning, and saw an immediate improvement. He started sleeping through the night again, the red cheeks and ears went away, the head-banging and face-slapping stopped, and the pinching, scratching and biting decreased. By Thursday (yesterday), his teachers and therapists were all telling us that " is back! " Then today afternoon happened. The day started out fine. As it wore on, though, he had several meltdowns, with lots of pinching. Then he had a huge " poop party " - fecal smearing, etc... that we haven't seen in months! Then, lots of silly behavior - giggling, etc... Then, just a few minutes ago, he got VERY upset with me because I wouldn't let him play with a lamp. He attempted to bite me several times, pinched, scratched, dropped to the floor kicking and screaming. Is this yeast? We did stop the Enhansa, which is a yeast-fighter, but he is on Nystatin and Klaire Therbiotic Detox Support probiotic. Should I slowly reintroduce Enhansa? Argh! Any advice out there? > I really need some help, here. Since Friday, my almost-5 year-old has been having such a difficult time. He's been head-banging, smacking himself in the face HARD, pinching, scratching, biting, crying, posturing, etc... He also had red cheeks and ears and allergic shiners. No one's gotten much sleep since Thursday night. It seems clear that he's in abdominal distress, but we can't figure out the cause. It also seems to scream " diet infraction!!! " , but I know his diet is clean. I've upped his yeast protocol, but nothing has improved. Could he have developed an intolerance for something new? I'm taking out rice, too, but am still seeing no change. Maybe it's corn... ? > > Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can do to help him? > > Thanks. > >

Guest guest
, IMHO, I don't think it's yeast. We kinda saw the same things, we got great results removing foods like salicycates...but it didn't remove the problem completely. (I'd say it was like 70% better, but it wasn't full on) Did you remove salicycates too? (Feingold ones, like tomatoes, cukes, peaches, plums, cherries, etc.) And if you did, are you supplementing with calcium, magnesium and zinc? I say this, only because, while we do not and have not had it as bad as you have it, but we saw a huge improvement with this. (once we removed foods and added these things. If you do think it's yeast, instead of probiotics -- and it's just a suggestion -- I used Syntol and candex with excellent results. (My friend did too) less agression, less crying, less stuff all the way around. We didn't get die off reactions, but we got all the benefits. (Happy kids without yeast issues!) I can't help but feel like it's an 'infraction'...what did he eat? Do you keep a food journal? (I used to and now, I don't, and I should!) that sucks. I'm thinking. laura :/ > > > I really need some help, here. Since Friday, my almost-5 year-old has been having such a difficult time. Guest guest
covered a lot but just wanted to say if it's a phenolic infraction, it could possibly be helped by an epsom salt bath or magnesium sulf cream, if you have any on hand. You could also try taurine, magnesium as suggested, and better yet is magnesium taurate, if you are located somewhere you could get some still (it's nearly 10 pm here) Â , IMHO, I don't think it's yeast. Guest guest
This happened at my house every time we stopped taking an antibacterial, which Enhansa is. We had huge phenol issues which left quickly upon using digestive enzymes and eating organic. MB12 helped as well. What I did with the turmeric, which is what Enhansa is made from, was start off on low doses and wait it out. Eventually, it killed things which allowed them to handle the higher doses without any bad reactions. But, I never did do high doses. Small doses seemed to work wonders, so I never pushed the issue. It does work over time though. Turmeric/curcumin are truly one of my favorite supplements, and I am happy to see it being used so prominently in the autism arena. Love and prayers, Heidi N So, here's an update of what's been going on the past 5 days or so. Guest guest
You and my sister! (She live between Orlando and Daytona) I don't think United has a base there does it? We are Continental (now United). If he wasn't gone so much lately, it wouldn't be so bad, but he was gone 4 days, came back for 24 hours, and is gone again another 4 days (until Sunday)...ugh. I just finally after having a baby 6 months ago got a little settled, and 1 picture on the wall. Don't throw it in the universe just yet, I haven't caught my breath! Put in a request for that Norwalk juice press... lol! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here.
