This happened at my house every time we stopped taking an antibacterial,

which Enhansa is. We had huge phenol issues which left quickly upon

using digestive enzymes and eating organic. MB12 helped as well. What

I did with the turmeric, which is what Enhansa is made from, was start

off on low doses and wait it out. Eventually, it killed things which

allowed them to handle the higher doses without any bad reactions. But,

I never did do high doses. Small doses seemed to work wonders, so I

never pushed the issue. It does work over time though.

Turmeric/curcumin are truly one of my favorite supplements, and I am

happy to see it being used so prominently in the autism arena.

Love and prayers,

So, here's an update of what's been going on the past 5 days or so. With

the help of you all here, we determined that was reacting to an

increase in foods and supps (Enhansa) high in phenols. We cut out the

phenols as of Tuesday morning, and saw an immediate improvement. He

started sleeping through the night again, the red cheeks and ears went

away, the head-banging and face-slapping stopped, and the pinching,

scratching and biting decreased. By Thursday (yesterday), his teachers

and therapists were all telling us that " is back! "

Then today afternoon happened. The day started out fine. As it wore on,

though, he had several meltdowns, with lots of pinching. Then he had a

huge " poop party " - fecal smearing, etc... that we haven't seen in

months! Then, lots of silly behavior - giggling, etc... Then, just a few

minutes ago, he got VERY upset with me because I wouldn't let him play

with a lamp. He attempted to bite me several times, pinched, scratched,

dropped to the floor kicking and screaming.

Is this yeast? We did stop the Enhansa, which is a yeast-fighter, but he

is on Nystatin and Klaire Therbiotic Detox Support probiotic. Should I

slowly reintroduce Enhansa? Argh!

Any advice out there?
