Update / I made it through the week

Hi everyone,

I have been posting on and off (as my anxiety came and went!) about my husband

and daughter's imminent trip to a national park (Yellowstone).

Well, they went and they're back. They had a wonderful time and their pictures

are glorious. I was really struck by how much my daughter was awed by nature.

She's not one to be easily awed. She met some lovely people and she and my

husband had a great bonding time.

It definitely was not an easy week for me. But this board has been a great,

great support to me. Thank you so much for your encouragement and for holding me

up.

I really had to beat the anxiety back and even write down on paper, 20 or so

times, that I would be all right. You know, that helped!

It's funny, they left at 5am last Monday. I sat down to watch The Today Show,

literally thinking, " let me hear about other people's problems, get my mind off

of my own. " The top story? The dangerous, escaped convicts in Yellowstone

Park. I thought I would throw up. But I stayed strong for my younger daughter

and determined not to focus on the news. Besides, I realized, Yellowstone's a

big place and probably (at the height of the news about the convicts) the safest

place to be, with all the rangers on duty!!

My anxiety now (it seems there's always something) is my fear that my mother

will hear about their trip from someone else. She will blow up on me. I

vacillate between not caring and being afraid of hurting her feelings blah blah,

same old stuff.

Anyway, this post was mainly to again, thank you for helping me through this

rough patch. I thought I would end up in a fetal position by Friday, sucking my

thumb, but I ended up really enjoying my time on my own with my little one,

making my own decisions.
