Dave, there wa s a company who contacted my husband DArryl, and I think

it was liberty. They told him tha tprodigy was going to stop making

the meter. He didn't go with this company, and if am am remembering

correctly, the one they had wasn't even accessible. I will talk to

Darryl in a few minutes but wanted to get this to all of you now so we

dnt go running for a new meter. I use american diabetes and though it's

been a little while since I ordered strips, I am assuming there is no

change there, though it wouldn't hurt for some of us to contact the

companies we use.

Update. Advanced Diabetics Solution called me back to report that my

insurance (High Mark Blue Shield) is indeed now in the network. Apparently,

the person I was speaking to went to their " verification " department, and

they cleared things up.

This is good, but I'm left wondering about Liberty Medical's pronouncement

that the Prodigy Voice meter has been discontinued. I'm thinking that they

have discontinued carrying it, but when I had questioned the customer

assistant, she seemed to think the meter was no longer being manufactured.

What's with the Prodigy Voice meter

Ruth, and all,

I just got off the phone with Liberty Medical, who says the Prodigy Voice

meter is no longer being produced.

I changed insurance to High Mark Blue Shield as of Jan. 1, and Advanced

Diabetic Solutions is not in the network, meaning I would have to pay out

the nose for strips from them.

Hence, the call to Liberty Medical. I can't imagine that the Prodigy Voice

has been discontinued.

So, what's the deal?

Thanks.

Liberty Medical said they had a replacement meter called the " Embrace. " As far

as I know, this meter has limited audible capability.

I don't have an answer, only that my husband and I both have these meters.

Just got our strips etc. It will be interested to hear other committs.
