Guest guest
Hello, all, I was hesitant about raising this issue, because it is exactly about a talking meter which I don't believe is available in the States. It is made by E77 Electronics in Hungary and is best known in the UK as the SensoCard Plus. The same meter technically, though this one is in the shape of a mobile phone, is what I have and is sold on the European continent as GlucoTalk. I have it named SensoLite Nova Plus. I have been using this meter for just over three months now and like it very much. It speaks an insufficient blood result as an: " Error: false reading, please repeat. " It doesn't have the memory problems of the Solo V2. Mine speaks both English and German. It has to be coded, but I can do this myself with the code card that comes in the test strip vial. The new model, supposed to be out this summer, will not need to be coded. I raise this issue on this list because the e77 Electronics company, which makes this meter, also makes the meter sold in the States as the Liberty meter, sold by Liberty Medical. I may be dreaming, but if Liberty is the distributor for e77's meters in the United States, it might not be difficult for us to get them to carry this talking meter, thus giving us a bit more of a choice and providing a good meter for those blind diabetics whose insurance is tied to Liberty Medical.
