Cheryl ~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com ~@midian42~ Thank you Cheryl-this seems like good advice. I thought that 2 months would be too soon for the antifungal to show resistance. You are correct about the yeast getting worse right off the round- we are seeing it get bad the day after the 3 day round ends. But then it is taking me a full week + to get him back to baseline in regards to yeast. It is really hard.I dont know what high ammonia looks like- but I do remember the ammonia level being above normal on one of my sons blood tests( although over a year ago). Can you treat for ammonia easily? Is it something that can be done without changing anything else? thanks again, denise> > > For those who treat their child with Rx systemic antifungals...> > how long have you found them to be effective at a time?> > > > My son has big yeast problems and we use both natural and Rx antifungals to control it.. but he still has yeast flareups and we see times where the antifungal seems to lose its effectiveness.> > > > We have been most successful on Diflucan( Nystatin and Amp B did nothing), but felt we needed to rotate off it when it seemed to not control the yeast- so we are on Nizoral now. We are about to finish our 2nd month of Nizoral and are starting to see the yeast creep back up again. Is it too soon to switch back to Diflucan? I dont want to create resistance to the med by switching to early....> > > > We also recently started AC chelation with DMSA, so we knew we would see yeast flares... > > He is also on high dose biotin, GSE, Caprylic Acid, Sacc B, high dose probiotics, No Fenol.
