Guest guest
Mali:Your words really resonated with me! Thanks!Sue Hi MJ, Totally know where you are coming from. Remember not to start treating IE as a " diet " ... The guidelines are not supposed to be strict rules to follow perfectly. Its a way of life, to be taken one step at a time. Don't beat yourself up. See this as progress as you are learning more about yourself. What helps me listen more to my body signals is if I really try to enjoy my food. Savor the food and as you are paying attention to taste and smell, you also become more aware of satisfaction and fullness. Also, why do you think you are not listening to the cues? Are there emotional issues behind it? Going on the scale will not do anything for you. It will only give you another reason to stress. I went on the scale a few weeks ago and even though I had lost weight I was stressing about loosing more and not gaining it back. So it really doesn't help and it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is how you feel. Take care of your body because it feels good... listen to your body because it feels good... enjoy your food, well, because its more enjoyable to eat that way... not because of a guideline or a rule - they were only meant to make you aware of these things. And take deep breath... relax... Hope this helps! Mali > > HI > It has been 2 months since I've weighed myself & I am really getting the urge to set up the wii (because I threw out the scale) & weigh myself. lately my clothes have been feeling tighter than they were & I know it is because I haven't been following the guidelines as much as I used to. I'm mad because this is getting really hard to stick to. I'm exercising regularly & I'm eating what I want but I'm not listening to my body enough for the hunger cues & the fullness signals. I need to start doing that more. any tips on ways to remind myself to check in before I start popping that food into my mouth without thinking. > > thanks, > mj >
