identity theft fraud by parents, more common than you might think

I forget who but one member of this board had a borderline parent who

ruined her credit. Earlier in August, my local paper had an article

about this and its impact on a local university student.

It seemed like a number of newspapers, regional and national, reported

on the rise of this phenomena... though no parent was associated with

a BPD diagnosis. I hope this link at MSN helps someone. The bottom

line is, that if this happens to you, you need to prosecute the family

member who steals your identity. Most victims are not willing to do

this. I am not sure what the time deadline is for reporting this. I

noticed in one article, the adult child did not discover the identity

theft and damage to their credit until they were in their late 20's
