Guest guest
I forget who but one member of this board had a borderline parent who ruined her credit. Earlier in August, my local paper had an article about this and its impact on a local university student. It seemed like a number of newspapers, regional and national, reported on the rise of this phenomena... though no parent was associated with a BPD diagnosis. I hope this link at MSN helps someone. The bottom line is, that if this happens to you, you need to prosecute the family member who steals your identity. Most victims are not willing to do this. I am not sure what the time deadline is for reporting this. I noticed in one article, the adult child did not discover the identity theft and damage to their credit until they were in their late 20's http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Banking/FinancialPrivacy/when-a-parent-stea\ ls-your-identity.aspx
