I think lysine is an alternative to valtrex but I am not sure how well it works.

Here is another thought. When I had my son on valtrex he broke out w/ mouth rashes, canker sores, rash on thighs and buttocks but we had to stop the valtres 80 days into it because his behavior was so bad it was dangerous (yes, he was on diflucan too). My son regressed after his chicken pox vacccine and having pneumonia.

My son has severe PANDAS now and we are treating with azithro which he is responding well too. I decided to add in Dr Usmans biofilm protocol to hopefeully help the antibiotic get to the strep better. Once I added the biofilm protocol he developed the same mouth rashes as he had on valtrex. I have now added valtrex to the mix to see what happens. Yesterday he had a meltdown shortly afte giving the valtrex but I was able to get him back on track with charcoal and another dose of azithro,

It's interesting that the biofilm protocol seemed to unleash something. Maybe you could try the biofilm protocol to see if it would help the valtrex get into the cells.

My 14-year-old daughter takes 2gm of Valtex per day. Every time I try to reduce the amount, she goes bonkers. Still, I'm not thrilled having her take so much each day. Does anyone know of natural alternatives? If you've tried them, what has been your experience? Thkx
