I don't know anything about Byetta, but if you don't get the answers you are

looking for from others on this list, I would ask the pharmacist where you

get your prescriptions filled. Pharmacists often know more about drug

interactions than doctors do. So in addition to asking your doctor, ask

your pharmacist any time you have questions about drugs you are taking or

thinking of taking.

Subject: Byetta

Hello everyone,

I don't post much on here. However, I have a few questions concerning

Byetta, that I hope someone can answer.

I asked my doctor last week, if he would consider putting me on Byetta. I

have a hard time controlling my appitite, and I have gained 5 pounds back,

from the seventeen I lost. This has not made me happy at all. I only have 2

meetings left with my dietician. Right now I am on Lantus. I'm not sure if I

spelled that correctly. I take 25 units at night.

Anyway, my doctor said that he would consider putting me on Byetta, if I

gave him some blood sugar results for about a month, so I told him I would

do this. He also asked me to make sure my drug plan will cover it, which

they will.

So here are my questions.

Can Byetta be taken just by itself? Or is it usually taken in combination

with something else?

How often is it usually taken?

What are some side affects you can have with it?

What are some of the major benefits you have seen, for yourself?

Any help or advice anyone can give me will be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri
