Guest guest
I am new to the group, thank you so much for accepting my request to join. My son is 6 years old with autism. He has been on SCD for about a month now and we are just about to start with antiviral treatment. Our doctor has the protocol completely wrong after reading the recommendations from this group. She instructed us to dose with Valtrex 250mg twice a day for a week and then include Flagyl twice a day and then include Diflucan 100mg after a month on Valtrex. What is the recommended starting dose for Valtrex and Diflucan? My son weigh’s about 40 lbs. Also is Flagyl part of the protocol? I cannot find any recommendations for including Flagyl in the treatment in the information files. We have been undergoing treatment for about 2 years now with virtually no improvements. We are so hoping for a result with antiviral treatment. Thank you so much for your help. .
Guest guest
Hi .Did you get the answer you need? Well,my son has been on antivirals for about 6 months now and it has really helped him to "be here with us" .Like wanting to engage somewhat. And he has actually used old toys in his bedroom that have not been used in years. He has gained about 15 pounds also.He is 11yrs. old, 75 pounds,500mg. 3x a day.Spread out evenly through out his day. My first doc. for antivirals was Dr.Usmans office and they prescribe a low dose also.I scoured the imfo on this yahoo site.Collected info. that I could bring to the doctors and I begged, and got what I wanted.I felt much relief because from all my research, low dose could be bad and if I am going to get a good sample of whether it would help, I wanted the right dose. My son is now moved on to another doc. Dr.R in Tx. and he uderstands my son much more than any doc. ever has. If you need his info. I would be I like the Flagyl and Diflucan treatment.I have used them myself.I have heard others(children) using them with success. I have heard mostly that they helped get things under control and then they could go to naturals. Hope this helps, and ask as much as you want or need! Tammy F. Guest guest
Hi . The only thing I would question if I where you,is the valtrex dose. My son was about 60pds. and 10yrs. old and his dose(above 50pds.) is supposed to be at least 500mg 3x a day.So my son was pretty easy to figure out. I hope someone will see this and have a more of a accurate idea for you. Take care,Tammy F. Hi Tammy, Thank you for the response. I have started treatment with no side affects so far, we are on day 5. We are using 250mg Valtrex 3 x a day, Fluzol 50mg 2 x a day and Flagyl 200mg 2 x a day. Are these doses OK or should we increase any one of them? My son is 6.1 years and weighs about 40 lbs. Thanks the help.
