Guest guest
In case it helps, and you want some type of structure for your meetings, this is what we are doing that I find helpful:On Sunday night, we email our goals for the week. It could be the same goal everyday or a mixture, but at least 1 thing a day.For example you might say: In the next 7 days:I will go on a walkI will drink 8 glasses of waterI will read my IE bookEat a meal without distractionsThen every evening (or the following morning) we email each other and check-in about our goal. The purpose is to explore what happened. You'll be surprised at how many things you learn about yourself that you didn't notice before. The main thing is to pick goals you look forward to, or trying out, and set them low enough that you know you can do them, and try to avoid negative goals (ex: I won't binge). I think it's better to do positive goals or the "I will" goals (ex: "I will" take note of what happened the moment before I started to binge). Also, as a buddy, I believe my role is not to judge or bully my partner into "doing" the goal. There is no right or wrong. We are all in the same boat trying to help each other.KateI like the word "buddy" so that it does not feel like an AO or AA meeting.I am open to the idea if anyone wants to connect with me.A> > >> > > Does Geneen or any of you have any strategies for when you are in > > the midst of a binge?> > >> > > I don't know how to stop it once it has occurred.
