Guest guest
Here is a PBS documentary about the bewildering, unreal situation in which the children of very high-functioning but abusive, mentally ill fathers *are not believed* by the court when they finally disclose the emotional, physical and sexual abuse they've endured. The documentary includes a lot of interviews with teenaged children who have been forced to live with or spend time with fathers who continue to sexually exploit or physically batter them after a divorce! Some kids are permanently separated from the non-abusive parent and virtually isolated with the parent who molests and beats them. Its just incomprehensible to me, but it apparently happens often enough that a documentary could be made about it. Warning, this documentary is highly triggering. And it apparently caused such an uproar when it was aired that it is no longer available at the PBS site for viewing. Its on YouTube, though. The documentary is called " Breaking the Silence: Children's Stories " -Annie
