I think we might talk to ourselves that way because there's nobody

sueing us or punching us in the face when we do it. :-)

Seriously, I guess part of the reason why people don't talk to us like

that is the possibility of punishment.

I think that it does make us miserable and that is why we eat...it fills that void left from self abuse
