Guest guest
You know, it just struck me: How could negative self-talk NOT make us miserable? Imagine how we would feel if someone else was talking to us all the time the way we talk to ourselves when we're being negative! For some reason this just struck me hard: I wouldn't have anything to do with someone who talked to me the way I talk to myself. How in the world did I think it was ok all those years to treat myself so terribly? Laurie Re: Re: Weight issue Nice ideas, everyone, thanks! Today I was hungry with an hour before lunch, and I gently reminded myself that it was okay to feel hungry for a little while, that food was on its way. Just soothing and kind...that's the only self talk that works for me...negative self talk just makes me anxious and miserable.

Guest guest
Ditto here--thanks, Laurie! It's hard for me to catch that negative self-talk when it happens--but I do know that I would never speak in such a despicable manner to anyone, especially someone who I love and cherish--or even -- who I just like a lot!Thank you for the reminder!!reputkow> > >> >> > You know, it just struck me: How could negative self-talk NOT make us> > miserable?
