YES!!!

I have exactly the same reaction, I can't even watch it because it grosses me

out so much. It makes my skin crawl, it is so not funny. Probably KO sensitivity

but that is definitely such a bpd mom thing

growing out of his body that produces skittles and his mother won't let him get

it removed or go to college so she can keep " harvesting " the skittles? It

almost makes me ill to look at it.

That makes me want to hurl.

That little: we will exploit you, steal your life, and make you smile about it

.. . .

And that's just the beginning.

Wow!!

I agree, the symbolism is very disturbing, particularly since the " tree limb " is

protruding from the son's waist area (as opposed to growing out of the top of

his head or his arms becoming tree limbs, for example) and is rather " erect "

like a large phallus. What were these people thinking!?

Ewwww, I didn't even think about the sexual symbolism. Yet another reason to go

ick. One thing it reminded me of is that in new age circles there's a belief in

something called relationship cords which literally work to siphon energy and

beliefs between two people. The relationship cords usually present when one

person is draining another person of personal power come out exactly out of the

solar plexus - where that tree is coming out of the boy. So it disturbs me on

that level too.

Here's what I wonder....this is an ad for a well-known product that plays on

network television. So it's expected to have a broad audience and it's been

around for over a year at least and it is *still* running. That implies the ad

must be somewhat successful or they wouldn't spend the money to run it. I

wonder how a person with completely healthy parents would react to this

commercial?

Oh thanks to all you guys - good to know I'm not alone in my feelings.
