Guest guest
Hi All, My doctor is finally coming tomorrow and so I will see what he has to say about this whole thing. But I am having a real problem with testing. I have gotten over being afraid of the poke and I know now that it is the tip of the test strip that is the sensitive part. But I have only had success a couple times getting blood to come out. Sometimes those pokes hurt quite a bit and I squeeze my fingers and everything and it won't come out. Or at least I cannot get enough of a sample to make the strip happy. So after a lot of frustration and repeated pokes on different fingers I put just a bit of control solution and it works like a charm. What am I doing wrong and should I think about alternative site testing? I only have one more test strip and two lancets that came with my meter. The guy at Prodigy said they could be old. But why do they work perfectly with control stuff? So I only got one reading myself that was high and two that said it was low without giving me a number which could mean it got too little blood to measure. My brother got the 137 the first day I got the meter. I can't waste the other one until I get new strips so I don't know what to tell the doctor. He will probably just have the technician come to draw blood and test it that way until I really get set up and going. I really need a way I won't goof it up.
