Guest guest
thanks, ! this is great advice and all really helpful!all the best,abby18 weeks... due august 6 Hi A and Abby, Congratulations to you both! Pregnancy is so amazing! I'm and I have a 3 and 4 year old so I remember well the pregnancy feelings of not recognizing and frankly being disgusted by my body during pregnancy. If it helps, it's totally normal to feel that way. I loved the parts of feeling the baby kick, but when I would look in the mirror when taking a shower I was horrified. I don't even have hardly any pictures of me pregnant because I didn't want pictures taken of me. I can't imagine how a video would have felt! Then toward the end despite the lotions, to my horror I got stretch marks all over my belly and even some other places! They were horrible looking! So if you get them, don't panic because mine have faded and are barely noticeable now! I guess it's because literally your body isn't your own for this time. If you breastfeed (I'm so glad I did, totally worth it), you'll feel your body isn't your own even longer. However, I didn't know about IE back then, but after having each child I didn't have time to think about dieting so much and without knowing it, I was eating intuitively. Food lost its power during that time because I was so immersed in taking care of this newborn. Between breastfeeding which helps getting your body back and being more active with the baby and just eating when hungry, I got back to my pre-pregnancy size. It's just that I wasn't happy there and eventually started back with the dieting and obsessing over calories, binging, etc. I'm sure it is hard to eat intuitively when pregnant since it feels like at times you could eat and eat and eat all day. Just don't stress about it because someday you'll be like me and miss that special time of being pregnant and having a newborn. There is nothing easy about it, but it is so special and short lived. Try to roll with all of it because you will feel like your body is your own again.... and those stretch marks will fade.
