Guest guest
I can't say for sure, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm thinking that they can't charge him as an adult because he was under 18 at the time of the incident. Best of luck to you and keep us posted. Robin <initialamericandreamjoe@...> wrote: Hi Everyone I know i dont post much here. and now im in dire straights! I have requested the police report and a copy of the complaint that was filed .Still waiting for that. I ve gotten as much documentation as i can to prove his disability. Nobody was injured least of all this grown man! It was a nightmare then and obviously it continues on. I just cant believe in this day and age with all the information on Autism. That they feel they have sufficient evidence to file such a charge against a child with Autism. The frightening part is my son will be 18 soon. and my fear is that these uneducated people will try and prosecute him due to his legal age. I just dont know wht to do ... Im just beside myself. My son is my world and I do everything for him. Yes. I do admit i made a big mistake getting involved with someone like him. But thats water under the bridge now. My guilt im sure will stay with me for years to come over this. If you have any thoughts please let me know Robin -- Robin
Guest guest
I cannot address the suppliments, but I think you should be able to get much more from your school district. I would put in writing to your school district that you are requesting " independant outside evaluations at public expense in the areas of speech and OT " . We did this when our son was 3 and within the week we had a meeting where the then Dir of Spec Ed ordered and authorized much more speech and OT for our son and summer services. Your district is not providing your son with near the level of services we got for our son who was non verbal at that age with SPD (not ASD). In our district, kids with ASD go to a full day preschool with many specialist in the classrooms. Early intervention is so important and they are missing hte boat. What state are you in? denice edenpamela <pamela_eden@...> wrote: Hello Everyone, I have never posted any messages, though I do read & learn from you all. My son 4Y ASD has been on a CF/GF diet for 1 Year, & lately I have introduced organic food, (that is all we eat at home) since all he eats is pureed. I cook him Organic Grass fed ground beef, with spinach, carrots, cilantro, garlic, & occasionally Asparagus (when ever I can find organic) & now he has shown an interest in macaroni & cheese, I started eating it myself as he ate his pureed food in an effort to get his attention & to my surprise he stared at me & started snatching the food out of my plate, so it's his snack when he gets home from school. He goes to a ESE School for 2 hrs. where he gets 30 minutes per week speech therapy, they took OT away in Aug. because they said his fine motor skills are very good. This is his 2nd year in PRE-K since he was born SEPT 3. so he has just turned 3 when school year started. To all this here is the topic, I have been giving Tommy the following for the past 6 months: Super Pro-Bio 75 Billion 2 at breakfast with his cereal, Spectrum Complete with applesauce, Enzym-complete/DPP-IV ll now I am giving him the Maximun Spectrum Enzym-Complete/DPP-IP fruit free Isogest formula instead of the other one. I recently started giving him 1 Virastop & 1 candidase from enzymedica twice a day & 1 GSE from kirkman daily. I read that Milk thistle should be given with taurine for liver detoxification, is that correct? I bought them both from Kirman & have started to give him 1 capsule daily,(I am taking that also) Milk Thistle 100 mg & Taurine 1000mg, I also give him Vit C 1000 mg from Bronson Lab. IMG with Folic Acid & B12 also EFA from Kirkman & Coromega from the Coromega Company thru Kirkman, Calcium-Magnesium Plus Minerals from Life solutions purchased at Whole Foods. Has anyone given their child Detoxification Aid Por- Support ll from Kirkman? We are also doing NAET & had many clearings. Lately he is scripting a lot & he has verbal stims, and is very sensitive. till August of this year he was non verbal would only point, he can now say I want I am hungry, the basic words though I do have to prompt for an answer, he was getting OT & Speech at MIA Children's Hospital through our insurance, though only 20 sessions a year of each. What can I do to help with his verbal stims, sensitivity, scripting, he does have a tantrum once in a while when he doesn't have his way, he is also not potty trained, he knows to use the Potty though he won't, he gets defiant when I tell him pee pee in the potty, he tells me no pee pee potty! Guest guest
Hello Denice thank you for replying, we are in Florida. At the last IEP meeting they told me that the school will only provide for what his needs are in school and since his fine motor skills are very good, he can write the same with a pencil or with a crayon or marker. I don't think they provide much therapy here since it is PRE-K which I think is wrong about leaving out other therapies needed for when they go to KIndergarten. Next week we have an IEP meeting, what state are you in? Pamela > Hello Everyone, > I have never posted any messages, though I do read & learn from you all. Guest guest
If you FEEL you are missing a lesson, then you are not. The answer is within YOU. Perhaps, just perhaps, you don't need a vehicle. I know how crucial they can seem to be, but, perhaps without one and the isolation and independance they can bring, you are forced to accept assistance and contact with other people, who otherwise you may not have had the opportunity to interact with. That is from the outside view, now what do you FEEL on the inside? Guest guest
Thanks Mark. If I could go without a vehicle I would. I would prefer to be in the country totally self sufficient and use walking and horse back as my mode of transportation. But since I am in no position to do that right now and since My Higher Guidance still has much they keep directing me to do daily and since my 20 year old dropped out of school so he could help with the bills and the only decent paying job he found is 20 miles away and the youngest one got a after school job to help with bills. I would say yes, a vehicle right now in our life is a necessity not a luxury. If we had public transportation it would not be an issue. But we don't. I also will be doing special events again once I have my therapeutic jewelry supply replenished. Right now I already have to many people that rely on me because they do not have transportation or not able to drive. I am not a materialistic person so to me a vehicle is just something to get me from point a to point b. And personally I feel I have to be missing a lesson or else I wouldn't be having some many car issues in such a short period of time. I know one of the issues is I am suppose to move, but waiting for school to get out and still getting mixed messages about were we are suppose to move too. Guest guest
I myself am a single parent with a soon to be 19 year old who is trying very hard to save for his own car and knowing how expensive they are for the upkeep, insurance etc. I am worried because I can barely afford the upkeep on my own and as I told him it is a new set of problems and with him working 5 minutes from home it is better to wait for a couple of years, pay cash for a vehicle then it may not be so hard on either of us. My Mother however has not driven since my Step-father passed (15 years ago) and she does rely on me (being an only child) I go visit her everytwo weeks and take her to the store etc. My job is 20 minutes away and public transportation to me is unsafe with standing at the bus stops early in the morning. I wish I was married or had a partner to help me thru these hard times, being single with young ones wanting to drive or even sharing a car is really hard and Insurance is so expensive. Donna (new to this site but loving it) Thanks to all my new friends. ¢¾abrinaus <abrinaus@...> wrote: Thanks Mark. If I could go without a vehicle I would. Guest guest
Donna, I wish I could tell you it gets easier LOL j/k. I have raised them on my own for the past 14 1/2 years. Other than friends that are more like family being my true support system. My oldest realizes the cost of things so he has no problem helping out with things. We have had the same conversation over and over again and he always tells me he is more than happy doing it this way until things change. Buying a cash car is always better than payments if you can find something reliable. Is your son into cars? If so maybe a fixer upper he could restore would work. Guest guest
Dear Darla, Perhaps you are focused on how you see this situation working out rather than how Creator is going to work it out for you. When I am in impossible situations, I give up control and let Creator have it. My prayer words are "I have done all I can, now it is your turn". What usually happens is that I get what I need minute by minute, or day by day for awhile until things are more peaceful. Just a thought. Guest guest
Hi Darla, nice to make your aquiantance. My son has just recently started to save for a car (we will see how that goes) if he doesnt see a new outfit he wants everypay he'll be fine ;-), ya know? I think a fixer upper is the best idea to! I'm not sure how much he really know's about fixing a car yet, but as most young people he thinks he does, ahah. He does help me (thank goodness) with 100.00 everytwo weeks and that basically helps for groceries. I would love to help him financially with it but he nows I cant so therfore he needs to focus on what he really wants and save save save even if it takes a year if he puts back 200.00 a month thats enough he could pay cash for a descent vehicle or that would be a really nice down payment so his payments wouldnt be so much. Keeping my fingers crossed, he can me a bit lazy however and I have told him "Son these years are important so dont let them slip thru your fingers, education and hardwork will only help you in your later years" He is supposed to be studying on his GED at home but rarely does he pick up his books to do so. I am hoping he gets more motivated and that way he can also be proud of his accomplishments that he achieves on his own! Thanks Darla for being there I really am enjoying this site! xoxo Donna abrinaus <abrinaus@...> wrote: Donna,I wish I could tell you it gets easier LOL j/k. I have raised them onmy own for the past 14 1/2 years. Other than friends that are morelike family being my true support system. My oldest realizes the costof things so he has no problem helping out with things. We have hadthe same conversation over and over again and he always tells me he ismore than happy doing it this way until things change. Buying a cashcar is always better than payments if you can find something reliable. Is your son into cars? If so maybe a fixer upper he could restorewould work.BlessingsDarla > > > >> > > > Hello all,> > > > > > > > Bare with me here while I tell you a tale LOL and than please, > > > pretty> > > > please tell me if you can figure out what the heck I ammissing so I> > > > can move on from this lesson. Guest guest
Your very welcome Donna. Also, if you haven't done so yet, Humanity Healing is also on ning. More involvement in groups and projects and such over their. Neither of my kids are into working on cars. So I told them to save their money and buy a vehicle for cash when they can afford it, than they can keep trading up til they get something they really want. But sometimes you have to take the baby steps. > > > > > > > > > > Hello all, > > > > > > > > > > Bare with me here while I tell you a tale LOL and than please, > > > > pretty > > > > > please tell me if you can figure out what the heck I am > missing so I > > > > > can move on from this lesson. Guest guest
Yes I agree and knowing that this does make our lives so much easier and gives me strength knowing this is true is a blessing. At one time I did not know or could not find this solution but it know gives me a peace of mind but sometimes we all do need reminding of this. Thanks Peace & love xoxo Donnasenegalady@... wrote: Dear Darla, Perhaps you are focused on how you see this situation working out rather than how Creator is going to work it out for you.
