Guest guest
Beth, Bruce, et all. I too have the yawning problem. I have difficulty fully yawning without going into a coughing jag!!! I hadn't even realized that this had anything to do with the NSIP. I found out something else today as well. I've begun to have what I thought was althlete's foot areas on my left foot. I had no itching or burning just redness that kept getting worse. I used the Lotrimin foot spray over the week-end and it did not help at all. I could not figure out this morning which doctor I should call...podiatrist, family practice or dermatologist. I finally called the family practice. got an appointment for 3:15 this afternoon. ...He said that there was no rash, it wasn't athlete's foot, not a fungus. He feels that it is bruising from my shoes (which by the way do not hurt at all) He feels that the redness is another side effect from the prednisone and Imuran making me bruise so easily. that my feet are very sensitive. Who would have thought!!! So he had blood work done to check again for all the white cell and red cell counts. They were fine a month ago! But who knows? Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z 64, fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! Guest guest
, I always bruised easily when I was on prednisone but I never thought of my feet. Pays to check with the doctor huh? The yawning is a funny kind of symptom. I always associated it with the fibrosis I guess because of my overall inability to take a really deep breath. But I remember mentioning it to my doctor in NY and he said, yup it's part of the package. I miss yawning! Beth Age 48 Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Change everything. Guest guest
, There is no burning or swelling or tingling at all.In fact If I hadn't looked at my foot I would not know any thing was wrong at all! My mild Reynauld's only drives me nuts in the winter! The fingers get blue at the slightest cold. I wear gloves sometimes in the house too! I've been on both Prednisone ( from 40 down to 10) and Imuran ( from 100 now 87.5) for 3 years. Now this stuff is happening!!! Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z 64, fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! Potter, reader, carousel lover and MomMom to Darah and Sara “I’m gonna be iron like a lion in Zion” Bob Marley Vinca Minor-periwinkle is my flower wrote: , I am also on Prednisone ( down to 25mgs.) and Imuran ( for 2 weeks) and have Reynaud's. My feet have been swelling and the veins popping out. They tingle and burn. My hands and arms burn and my fingers swell. When I went to rheumatologist two weeks ago, I had all of those things except for swelling in my feet. She said these things were related to the Raynaud's and gave me nitoglycerin cream to rub on my hands and feet. Since I've started taking Imuran, my hands and feet are swelling continually. It's hard to differentiate the Reynaud's from the side effects of the two meds. Knowing that Prednisone can lead to diabetes, I'm watching for signs and taking care of my feet. How does your Raynaud's effect you? Before prednisone, it was only in the shriveling and discoloration of my fingers. Now, I have these "monster" hands and feet that swell, burn and throb. I'll be watching closely to see what your doctor says. It's enough that we are dealing with a major lung issue without all these little side trips cropping up! PF, Sjogren's, Reynaud's Apr.'08 TX age 52 Watch your feet very closely. While it may be directly from the Imuran or Prednisone and is something to be watched if so, it could also be a warning that you're approaching diabetes. Either way its something to make sure your pulmonologist is aware of, as strange as that sounds. Now it also could be from swelling and shoes and looser shoes and even diabetic socks might help. Just don't say something like "oh its just me feet, it's nothing" and dismiss it too lightly. > > > > > > Diane, > > > It's so hard to say because what every person feels within his or her > > own body is so subjective.
