Guest guest
Good answer. And there are a multitude of ways to do that. The point of Lent is not to give up something you love for deprivation's sake. It's to detach yourself from your worldly pleasures for the purpose of deepening your spiritual contemplation. You can accomplish the same thing by, for example, committing yourself to a daily meditation during Lent. Or to anything else that takes you out of your ordinary routine and makes you more conscious of your relationship to God. April Isn't the whole point of Lent to give up something significant though? It's supposed to be difficult, not something easy to give up, like a sacrafice, if I remember my catholic upbringing from 45 years ago. So while you're doing something new and pleasurable for yourself (wholeheartedly recommended ) you also still have to choose something to give up for Lent though sugar, and other food items probably aren't the best choice while also trying to learn IE. Sunny Re: Re: Introduction and support needed YAY!!!! maybe something that involves doing something really NICE for yourself each day? abby Thanks everyone for the advice. I think I am going to do something for Lent that isn't at odds with my IE journey so far. Chris
