Guest guest
Good news. I got my call today - Pittsburgh is going to put me on the lung transplant list! I have a few tests I have to repeat, like the blood work, and CT Scan, and 6 min. walk, and I have 2 crowns the dentist has to do next week, but then I am cleared! I will let you know how things progress. Busy, busy, busy. was with me with I got the call. It was nice to have her here. She and are visiting this week. Kaleb is still in South Carolina. He leaves Saturday to go stay with his dad for 6 weeks. His father and I are fueding about that, but there isn't anything I can do about it now. I won't have any time with Kaleb this summer. He will get back just in time to get ready for school to start! That's the unfortunate part of divorce, I suppose. Thanks for listening to me ramble on....I hope everyone is doing well and I miss this " air " family a bunch! God Bless, Tina
Guest guest
Congrats! I understand about all the testing before having a transplant. Had to go through alot before I could have my bone marrow transplant, even though I was my own donor! The dentist was the worst part for me, I hate the dentist with a passion. My teeth aren't in the most perfect condition either, so I get harped on about it. /22/ Ohio ~ Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Survivor of 2 years 12/2005 ~ Autologus Bone Marrow Transplant 09/2006 ~ Pulmonary Fibrosis caused by chemotherapy 06/2008 ~ > > Good news. Guest guest
- Steve. I am delighted for you.......I recently spent 3 days u[ at Gainesville at Shands having my eval done. They put me on hold status while I have additional bloodwork done (which came back fine this time) and a gastric emptying studying test done which I had done on Monday.....so now I wait for appointment at Shands on 7/23........unless they get me in earlier. Don't be too leary about the tests...there are a great many........the ones I was most leary about turned out to be nowhere near as bad as I thought.....there is alot of bloodwork. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. One last thing..they told me that I needed to leg press 80 percent of my body weight..which for me was 124..I could d it......but I have been working to build that to a higher number. I also make sure I walk 25 minutes on the treadmill or walk anywhere as often as I can. The reason for the leg poress they told me was that it is easier whan tyou can do this, to stand up after the transpkant cause your legs are strong.
