Guest guest
Dave, I hated the time my eyes were going through the bleeding. It seemed that things would start to become stable and then more blood would show up. I did have some of the laser treatments while working at the nursing facility and the doctor's doing the laser and the surgery's, continually warned against heavy lifting. I did do what they advised, but there was still a lot of vessels that opened. -- Currently in Red Oak, Iowa Clear, 78°F Wind:SE-140° at 10mph gusting to 20mph Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. - Ralph Waldo Emerson Created by Weather Signature v1.4 • http://www.weathersig.com <http://www.weathersig.com/> _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of dave Bond Sent: Sunday, October 09, 2011 1:46 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Hello, I'm a new member Very similar to my experience. I lost my sight in one eye a year before losing it in the other. I had a total of 5 surgical procedures on my eyes, and I forget how many laser treatments. It took a total of 2 years. This was in the late 80s, when much of this was barely out of the infancy stage I think. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Guest guest
The bleeding was only part of the problem. Actually, the bleeding was a symptom that ultimately circled around and started a chain of problems. The leaking blood vessels create the blood in the eyes, and cause vision impairments, but then can lead to retina detachments. The vessels aren't able to heal, and cause scars on the retinas as well, which gives the fluid in the eyes something to grip and tug on. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
