I'm glad you got so much much helpful advice! I don't really have anything to add since everyone else said it so well, but I did want to say that one of the best benefits of IE that you don't anticipate when you start is how much you'll learn about yourself. It opens the door to be really introspective and improve all aspects of your life, not just the eating part. Keep being open to those learning moments!

WOW. thanks for your word of wisdom. I am definitly going to try to be in charge this weekend and NOT in control.

After I shared my feeling with the group, I learned something new about myself.

Is it possible I worry so much about being " BAD " on the weekend and as a result I wake up anticipating to be " bad " instead of " just be " and " living " .

Thanks so  much for sharing your thoughts with us...

Shoku, your mention of fearing weekends reminded me of what is often called 'last supper' eating? Dieting not only has lots of (crazy if you ask me) rules but also encourages us to think in terms of 'good' or 'bad' behavior related to eating. Another trigger could be 'weigh-ins' that often occurred after weekends and reinforced shaming what diets considered 'bad' behavior.

The neat thing about IE is that we really never screw up! If you can learn to see an uncomfortable eating experience as a learning situation - what could be 'bad' about that? What helped me lots was to re-define 'good' as that which my body reacted positively to and 'bad' as whatever made my body feel yucky or unhappy.

Hope you can find a way to be gentle with yourself. As to being 'in control', I love what Gillian suggests to be 'in charge' instead. BEST wishes to you and HAPPY weekend too :-) Bet you can find something wonderful to savor, treating your

body instead of fighting with it ;-) Maybe have a 'food fight' with your diet demons?!? (joking!)KatchaIEing since March 2007
