Guest guest
, I have Medicare and they will give me only 10 infusion sets per month (changing the site every 3 days). Perhaps your doc prescribed and wrote out the reason why you need more than that. My doc wrote out a prescription for 10 BG strips per day, so Medicare and my secondary insurance covers everything. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2011 3:13 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Going to get my Prodigy strips from Walmart, a question Hi, I am currently receiving medicare benefits, and am going to start getting my Prodigy glucose strips from my local Walmart pharmacy. What will medicare require from me to receive benefits of them assisting in the monthly payments of said strips? I know that some on this list have said that medicare required them to submit glucose logs of testing results, but I am wondering why medicare does not require the same usage logs or what not in the number of insulin infusion sets I go through for my insulin pump. Any help would be appreciated.

Guest guest
So, I guess what I need to know is do you have to submit blood glucose logs to medicare, or do you just allow your doctor to scan them? There was some talk on this list before about medicare requiring logs to be submitted before they would approve paymet of glucose strips. Kind of like requiring a signiture for medicare deliveries, and the names of any future children you might have within the next 10 years when filing a claim. Guest guest
Your doctor is your key. He/she knows you and " knows " how many tests you need to perform per day. But in my case, since I use so many strips, my supplier requested a log for their records to satisfy any audit Medicare might choose to perform. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. Guest guest
If Medicare wants a list of these, the provider you use will let you know. My provide sends me a paper every once in a while, but not often. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2011 6:49 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Going to get my Prodigy strips from Walmart, a question So, I guess what I need to know is do you have to submit blood glucose logs to medicare, or do you just allow your doctor to scan them?
