I have heard that calcium and magnesium can help with symptoms of pms, including bloating and craving. I'm not sure if it's true or not but would be easy enough to try.

And also, I sometimes feel like my body needs different things at this time of the month - what if you just go with the flow? (Sorry, pun unintended!) I am reading Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom right now and she strongly recommends not judging this time but just being with it. But obviously this doesn't help if the bloating is uncomfortable.

Best,

Abby

hi ladies

I was wondering if you have any suggestions on what to eat on heavy menstrual days to minimize bloating and discomfort.

In the past, I used to overeat due to heavy PMS and heavy bleeding.

I have been eating at a pretty normal flow for quite sometime now but my periods set me off.I tend to overeat or go to the other extreme.

Any suggestions on how to deal with heavy bleeding and eat food that may not cause more bloating.

Any ideas?

thanks

I'm taking calcium, magnesium, and vitamin E. I've also heard that B-6 helps, but I'm still nursing so I haven't tried more of that yet. I do believe that the first 3 are helping me, in my mood swings at least. Best of Luck.Dawn RTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Tue, September 14, 2010 5:46:57 AMSubject: Re: IE and heavy periods
