ette,

I was diagnosed when I was 6 months pregnant w/ my daughter in 2001.

I remember symptoms back to 1998. I then had my son in 2004. Let me

know what questions you have. I have IPF and appeared stable until

about 2005/2006. We don't know what ever caused it, we don't know why

I was stable all those years, we don't know what created the downhill

slide. It's been rapid though in the past year and I'm now on the

list for bilateral transplant. I don't have any other factors at all,

I actually describe myself as a ridiculously healthy 37 year old w/

crappy lungs. I've not been on any meds really to " treat " the IPF,

just cough suppressants. My kids are fantastically wonderfully

healthy and they didn't consider either of my pregnancy's to be high-

risk necessarily. However, they did have me on steroids for both

deliveries and both were induced on their due dates so as not to go

over. I consulted w/ my Pulmo prior to deciding about the second one

and he gave me the green light. We really thought we had things in

hand, low and behold not so much and I really, really struggled w/ my

breathing so much so I was hospitalized for panic attacks after a

sinus infection in the 3rd trimester. I was on O2 at night only in

the 3rd trimester of the first and maybe the 2nd half of the 2nd

pregnancy. I'm just rambling now... let me know what you want to know

and I'll be glad to answer anything I can.
